We haven’t met him yet, have we?
I think he’s been in 3-4 flashback strips in the main comic. I haven’t read it but I think he has a major part in OtOoPCs. In any case the letter, the fact they’re now pretty close to where he is supposedly imprisoned, and the rules of drama have all made it clear he will be important to the plot in some way.
We haven’t “met” the Dark One, or Serini, yet, either, but they’re both on the poster. And I think Elan’s mom is on there, too, though I’d have to double-check.
Also notably missing is the Empress of Blood.
I’m forbidden to access that poster. Do I need to create an account with the forum or something?
It works for me, (maybe because it’s already in my cache). You don’t need to be a member or anything, maybe try copying the address straight to the URL bar.

Interesting, The oracle is a very prominent bad guy, sized far beyond his influence in the story so far.

I don’t find Elan’s mother, but just look at Tarquin in his helmet right at the top of the bad guys poster. There are some real blasts from the past in there – Fruit Pie the Sorceror! Trigak the chimera! The dirt farmers! And is that the paladin Elan used to ride with in the lower left corner of the good guys poster?
And the lawyers are split good and evil. Also Tivo is evil, but that one is no suprise. I am having fun with those posters, thank you.
Hm. Miko is “good” - so is Belkar. Yet one is definitely an antagonist to the party, and the other is acknowleged CE.
OTOH, Thurkla (?) is on the “bad” side.
I don’t necessarily disagree with these, but it’s still interesting to ponder.
I was stuck by Jenny the bard (/rogue/sorceror) being on the bad guys side, as well as Yokyok, whose was only out to avenge his father’s death. Old Blind Pete is missing, and I just realized that the Creature in the Darkness is firmly on the bad guys side, although I doubt he’ll turn out to be a true villain in the end.
They’re divided by “good guy/bad guy”, not by “good/evil”. Therkla probably is actually evil (maybe willing to reform for Elan’s sake, but we’ll never really know), but the Monster in the Darkness and Right-Eye are both almost certainly good, and Yokyok probably is. But they all associate primarily with the evil folks, so that’s where they get put. With Jenny, we don’t really have any evidence for her alignment, other than that Haley got along well with her, but again, it’s the company she keeps: The thieve’s guild overall trends evil.
Therkla has a foot on the good side, as in she’s not completely for the bad guys. Of course there are other characters with body parts and wings across the spread, but she’s one of the few that I think are intentional.

Or, more precisely, “protagonist/antagonist.” Also, note that while Therkla is on the antagonist side, she’s got one foot in with the protagonists. Nice touch, that.

What gets me is that Eric’s toy dragonis on the evil side.
Well, it’s a green dragon. Color-coded for our convenience, you know. But I think that’s actually Monster-san’s dragon, not Eric’s.
I wonder if Eric’s is a representation of the green dragon of Reddragonsvile?

Now I can see it in all its glory! Thanks.
In Don’t Split the Party, there’s a bonus graph that shows who is connected to who(m), with helpful color coding. For instance, Belkar wants to have sex with V, while that flying female necromancer wants to have sex with Xyklon (sp?).
Other poster thoughts:[ul][]Elan’s hands are both occupied, and yet Banjo makes a solo appearance on the “good” side. []The Snarl seems to be on both sides. Or is that just fancy backdrop?[]Some scars seem to be up-to-date (vis. O-Chul), but others aren’t (vis. Redcloak’s eye). []The only character I see facing the “wrong” way is the blind seer from Azure City. Why is Hilgya on the antagonist side? While she is a member of the linear guild, she seems to defect from it before doing too much harm…[/ul]

Don’t read too much into this, sez Rich.
(Not that it’ll stop anyone from actually doing so, but hey.)
New strip is up:
