And this update was well worth it for the laughs. Bugsby’s Cat-Retrieving Hand or the semicolon joke either one would’ve been enough to justify it, and then as a bonus we have Belkar and V very carefully not knowing who each other are.
It’s too obvious a set-up.

All good but I felt Elan had the best line.
If only that guy had ended his sentence on a semicolon in the previous strip, it would’ve been even funnier, because I wouldn’t have noticed it until now. (Of course someone would’ve noticed it on the boards, and then Rich would’ve not used the gag out of spite). I did go back and check.

I went back to check too, and had an instant flashback to Snowden in Catch-22. I’m surprised it didn’t happen when I saw the strip the first time.

Yeah, it took a lot of “why the hell is everyone talking about what a great joke that is?!? I just don’t…ohhhhhhh…” for me.
Well, everyone takes their first couple of disembowelings real seriously. It takes a few before you relax and start seeing the humor in them.
