Not necessarily. I think it’s more likely that it will never be referenced again.
It’s hard to guess whether these things will come back or not. Sometimes they’re throwaway gags, sometimes they’re brick jokes (see also: Bugsby’s Cat Retrieving Hand), sometimes they’re hints at something bigger. I’m leaning toward throwaway gag here but only time will tell.
Anybody else think Thor was reassuring Minrah not to worry about uhhh, not keeping her hands outside the covers when she went to bed?
“You do you.”
That was my take on it. But I think that the Giant was leaving it deliberately ambiguous, and that it won’t be referenced again.
That was my thought. It was a happy moment for Minrah and establishes Thor’s personality as a cool guy even when talking to his mortal worshipers. But the whole point is that Minrah doesn’t want anyone to know and Thor is cool with that.
My mind immediately jumped to homosexuality just because it’s such a factor in real world religion but I agree with Mr Shine that no one seems to care much, if at all, in Stickworld.
I think that Nale is the only Stickworld character who’s considered homosexuality an issue. Even Miko didn’t have a problem with it.
You’re thinking that maybe she was going on solo quests for “Treasure, Type O?”
Wow, you, and he, were right, and I feel dumb. I coulda swore he left the reins in the hands of another goblin… but looking it up, I guess he got over his disdain for Hobs, or at least one of them, after he came back with a message direct from the Dark One :smack:
This. The point was to demonstrate Thor’s personality. By reassuring Minrah he shows concern for his people and by not mentioning it directly he shows tact. I doubt that the Giant had any specific thing in mind for Minrah’s secret, and it will never be mentioned again.
Redcloak had an epiphany during the attack on Azure City when a hobgoblin pushed him out of the way of a falling rock and was crushed instead. Redcloak saw the sacrifice and realized that he needed to fight for all goblinkind, not just standard green goblins.
That means “be yourself”. No sexual connotations involved.
I have an extra shift coming up this weekend, and my job involves a lot of computer-sitting while machinery runs. To fight my ignorance, I think I must reread… everything. I have forgotten so many details, I am embarassed I even posted!
Don’t feel bad. That strip was from over a decade ago.
Has anyone read the “Good Deeds Gone Unpunished” book? All stories are pretty good and the O’Chul’s backstory is amazing. I love Lien’s story most of all, though: She has always been a personal favourite.
Yeah, no one in the strip seems to care one bit. Captain Bandana casually mentioned a female ex to Haley once (here) and neither of them seemed to think it was a big deal.
Pretty much my thoughts on the matter.
Although I’m amused by some of the theories on GitP, such as “she secretly likes to garden”.
