Origin of a short piece of tune from the early Matrix previews.

Inspired by reading the Sacred music thread in this forum I dug out one of the Enigma CDs I have “the cross of changes”.

I’m playing it now, and I only just realized, that track two contains a short sequence of fairly abstract voice tune that I first heard on a preview for the first Matrix film. It’s played while neo and trinity are doing their stuff in the lobby of a building (at least I think it’s that bit. It’s in the preview only. It doesn’t occur at all in the main film)

Since I have it there’s no point requesting a song containing it. What I was wondering though is where it originated as it is (no offence Enigma) far too good to have originated from a not terribly well known band/group/whatever they/he/she/it is as Enigma. If it is their creation I’ll eat my hat. I hope someone know what I am refering to as, for a fairly basic ‘composition’ it sounds amazing.

Enigma are all original, as far as I know. They were one of the first to include Gregorian Chant into their music, with their runaway hit Sadeness. This was back in the early 90s, sort of following in the footsteps of similarly unique sounds from bands like Yello or Clannad.
