It’s official: I don’t like Tyler Perry. But Alec and Steve in their Snuggy was funny.
I’m not watching, but I have checked out the red carpet fashion pics. Worst dressed this year:
Melanie Griffith
Vera Farmiga
Tina Fey
Charlize Theron
Zoe Saldana
Molly Ringwald
Diane Krueger
Maggie Gylenhaal
I’m glad The Cove won. It actually has a chance to stop the barbaric practices it showed with all the press of the Oscar recognition.
Even though I know she’s a long shot, I’m rooting for Carey Mulligan for Best Actress. Bad Education has not played in Thailand yet, but her second cousin lives here in Bangkok, and we hoist a brew or three from time to time. (I mean her second cousin and I do, not she and I.)
Her grandmother’s sister is my friend’s mother.
I’ve gone from 1st to 5th in the last couple of picks. I’m dropping like a turd in a well. I’ll run the table on the actors, director and movie, but it probably won’t be enough.
Just came across this, via Digg

Whoop! I’m now in 2nd, but am unlikely to pass twick at this point.
I went for Streep over Bullock for Best Actress, that might help you a little.
ETA: Checks scoreboard Or not.
Argentinian was funny!
I wish I knew how to take Steve and Alec–I’m not sure if they’re being dicks to one another or trying to be funny.
I loves me some Kathy Bates.
WHAT is with the lamp shades that appear upon occasion?
Ooooh, that means I’ve got a chance after all.
Just out of curiousity, is that a typo or is it called Bad Education in Thailand?
Wow. I really kind of want to punch James Cameron in the face. Did anyone else notice the look of sheer and utter disdain when the Argentine was giving his acceptance speech?
Not that I think Avatar will win, but now I REALLY hope it doesn’t. What a jerk-face he is.
Oops! My “bad.” I got An Education and Bad Education mixed up.
(Don’t tell my friend.)
I think it’s going to be yours. I underrated Hurt Locker. That’s where it seems like my whiffs are all going.
wow, Michelle Pfiffer is still pretty hot
I missed that (bathroom break), but he’s ego is huge. I didn’t like his acceptance speech after Titanic, but I do like the world he created in Avatar (the plot is more than a little weak…)
Best Actor!
(ok, the gushing is making me squirm–I don’t like this admiration society stuff)
One interesting bit of trivia is that James Cameron was once married to Katheryn Bigelow. I imagine that’s going to feel pretty great to her if she can beat him out for best director.
I would’ve liked to see this format in the supporting categories. Nice touch.
I first saw Jeremy Renner playing Jeffrey Dahmer and was really impressed. I’m not surprised to see him here. His carre is going to really take off now.
the Dude wins!!
