kanicbird, do you belong to an organized church or other such organization? Have you discussed your beliefs with your minister?
Beg pardon? Do you even speak Hebrew? Because unless you’ve come up with some slang from an American neighborhood in NYC, you’re wrong.
I’m always up for a Hebrew lesson (what with the being Jewish and all) just what are the Hebrew words for ‘breath’ and ‘spirit’?
Huh. I was right that the word for soul is also the word for spirit (I learned the word for soul from watching Trembling Before G-d)- n’shema (almost certainly a misspelling on my part it’s nun shin mem hay in Hebrew). The word for breath is apparently (according to Google translation tools) nun shin yud mem hay.
Check it out- נשימה נשמה
They are apparently NOT the same word and cannot be interchanged.
Care to comment on this Kanicbird?
- There is the chance that Google translate actually spat out the words for spirit and breath, rather than breath and spirit what with Hebrew reading right to left. Regardless, they are not the same word.
I gather the existence of a man aged 120 years + one day will prove the bible wrong, wot?
I’m sorry, Doc, that you had to do your own research. I was being vituperative elsewhere.
I would also like to point out that there are a coupla different written and I believe spoken words for breath (much like in English, we have exhalation and breath and etc) and I’m pretty sure it’s the same for air. IANA native speaker, warranty void if cover removed or where prohibited.
Oh, you don’t even need to go hanging out in the Urals to raise that issue. You can go to Genesis, itself, to see that Kancbird has just invented one more new rule to twist around when its biblical contradiction is presented:
Adam: 930 years
Seth: 912 years
Enosh: 905 years
Kenan: 910 years
Mahalel: 895 years
Jared: 962 years
Enoch: 365 years (bad Enoch died early)
Methusaleh: 969 years
Lamech: 777 years
Noah: 950 years
As a matter of fact, this is how you torture autistic children. Trust me on this.
Okay, kanicbird – by your continued statements that you used to “worship demons”, I call bullshit. Actually, make that brainwashing. You have been brainwashed by your church and they have implanted memories in your mind that did not exist before. You never worshipped demons – you only believe you used to worship demons now because your church has brainwashed you into making pithy statements like that.
I grew up in a fundamentalist cult just like the one you’re in right now, and it was common practice for new converts to describe their pre-BA (Born Again) life as “demon worship”, “indulging in carnal pleasures”, or the ever-popular “hating Christ.” Having been an atheist/agnostic now for several years, I can tell you with absolute certainty that atheists do NOT worship demons, nor do they hate Christ. You have been lied to, plain and simple.
Actually, if you assume the pagan calendar back then was moon-based, not sun-based, and each year was actually only a month long, you get quite reasonable figures by dividing each age by 12. (Methusaleh = 80.75 years, etc.) I’m surprised few people ever point this out.
But they weren’t pagans. They were Christians.
Given that Kanicbird expresses odd beliefs that can not be found in any actual religion, it is unlikely that your conjecture is correct. Without ascribing any accuracy to Kanicbird’s beliefs, I tend to doubt that they are the result of any childhood brainwashing.
I am not surprised. I suspect that it is merely an odd coincidence. I know of no culture with a lunar calendar that did not organize their twelve or thirteen months into years. The position of the various constellations clearly have an annual cycle and only the most tropical regions do not have clear annual seasons.
I doubt that any society reckoned their aging on months without organizing those months into a longer cycle of years.

I think this is something that should have been said long ago in this thread. kanicbird’s ideas come out of nowhere. I’m not interested in arguing whether they’re true or not. I suspect that nothing any of us could say would change kanicbird’s mind about any of the claims he makes. My problem is that there’s no consistent underlying religion, philosophy, science, or any other sort of intellectual system behind his ideas. Every post he comes up with a new claim that adds to his previous ideas with no attempt to fit them into a consistent system.
Actually, some of kanicbird’s professed beliefs (especially the whole “I used to worship DEMONS!!” thing) are quite common in charismatic/pentecostal sects of Christianity. It’s true, a lot of his ideas come out of left field, but that’s also common amongst charismatic Christians.
So you have no instinct, no dreams, you are just a robot then I guess
Domo arigato.
The sperm and egg is just a reflection of the spiritual. My understanding is:
1 The man’s heart desires to give of his very self to his wife (sex is marriage scripturaly)
1a It doesn’t matter if the man believes he doesn’t want a child, it is the heart that matters, not the mind.
2 The woman’s heart takes the man’s heart and wraps it in life (egg)
2b it doesn’t matter if the women believes she doesn’t want a child, it is the heart that matters, not the mind.
3 If the timing is correct that will come together and be planted, if the womb is fertile a child should take root and grow, if the womb is barren the child probably die.
IMHO In oral sex, if the intent of the mind is to avoid pregnancy, while the heart wants to have a child the woman could be consuming the soul, which would be consuming bitterness, and she would become embittered. If the intent is to be fruitful and multiply, and oral sex is just a form of sexual diversion, then I believe no soul would be consumed. God know the intent of our hearts.
This I believe is the case of Onan in Gen 38, who spilled his seed on the ground, instead of impregnating his wife. This was a intentional case to avoid pregnancy, directly contradicting God’s first instruction, and incurred God’s wrath. Also interesting is that the child would not be his, but I assume his brother’s. I would WAG that a child (soul) was created, but something prevented that couple from bringing the child into the physical world, the child had to wait underground (spiritually).
IMHO,We are taught at a very early age to believe we are happy (in out minds), when our hearts are in pain, crying out. The world teaches us to do the exact opposite of what our heart desires, stands us on our heads, and makes us believe this is as happy as we get, as when we start to tip we struggle to get back on our heads. It takes God to give us a good push to have us finally stand on our feet and find out who we really are.
Given that my heart desires to set fire to people on the bus, this is hardly a bad thing.
There’s no point then. You can never know if you just thought what you’re doing is right is actually wrong because your heart didn’t speak up. Unless we ask kanicbird.
Again science will never prove the spiritual because it can’t, it is designed to. The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God, and the way to learn what is really happening is just to seek God (not to seek information), and God will reveal the information. Again it’s not reincarnation so to speak, but one life. Reincarnation believers take it as a soul refining process, so the spiritual self has some influence of past lives.
People do remember, but they are very much in the spiritual, their bodies are in a state of what we would call sensory isolation. There is sound, mostly a regular heartbeat and digestive noise, sense of motion, sometimes feeling through kicking and some body kenimatic (?), but very little.
OK I can’t find a specific verse about being raped by a demon, but the Sodom and Gomorrah story seems to be just that, but you would have to know that the residences of these 2 cities were demon possessed.
To who? You? How is at numerous scientists make proof, but you alone know it’s a deception? This guy thinks he’s right and everybody else is wrong too.
That site contradicts the Word of God (for one saying Adam and Eve never existed), though it may contain partial truths, each aspect has to be filtered by the Word.
Scientist also contradict the Word, it really doesn’t matter how much worldly schooling they have, if God says something and they say it’s something else, God wins.
In many ways I was hoping for that, but persecutions do come . Read about Paul’s life:
Perhaps where you are health care is not a issue, I know many who are staying because they are afraid of losing their benefits, including pensions. We are instructed to follow God and not worry about such things.
God does not want us to be in bondage to a job over fear of losing benefits, or even food, He promises He will provide.
OK next time I speak with a demon I may mention that you would like this deal. You will be as rich as Bill Gates, have a flaming incurable case of reoccurring hemorrhoids, be a heroin addict. btw this will happen in 10 years when Bill Gates is broke and homeless, you will be as rich as him - enjoy.
This is the deception we are dealing with, read the fine print (or at least ask for it).
