Our precious little girl walked back and forth between mommy and daddy today - several times. It was so great. I cried. She took two steps the other night on her own in the middle of the room. She has been letting go in her playpen some too. But today was the genuine thing. She walked
Another moment of independence. Later, while at the mall, she wanted to walk around with only one of mommy’s hands. She had more confidence in her ability I guess. She didn’t want to be carried or in the stroller. She’s growing up. awwwweee…
Yay! Walking is good.
Not to horn in, but last night Aaron turned from his back to his side several times. He’s also batting the toys on his bouncy chair, grabbing and manipulating things, and learning to kick at the ball over his crib at daycare. His personality is developing and he’s starting to assert himself more.
It’s so cool watching him go from being a lump of baby to becoming an actual person!

It is so amazing to watch. Each day is something new and exciting. It sounds as though Aaron is quite active. How old?
Our little girl is 13 months.
Aaron will be four months old on Saturday. His personality is somewhat souring as he learns to ask for what he wants as he learns to want more, but for the most part, he’s a sweet, laid-back guy.

Awww. That is so sweet. Congrats to mommy, daddy and the l’il cub.
Wonderful!! I’ll bet that was really exciting!
Also, JK- can I ask where in NC you are? I’m moving to the Charlotte area in a few days and am just curious
I’ve never felt this kind of pride before.
Utterly amazing, watching this thing that didn’t exist 2 years ago just BECOMING right before our eyes, doing something a little differently every day. And re-affirming the rightness of what we are doing (being parents) in the process.
And she LOVES walking. Like jkayla said, she’s been getting herself ready for this, working towards it for weeks and now she’s enjoying the payoff. HUGE grins and laughing as she toddles across the floor between us and crashes into mommy, then we turn her around and back she goes to daddy. We’re gradually moving ourselves apart, trying to see how far she’ll go on her own.
No, wife, she’s not a baby any more - she’s something even more wonderful…
PS: Zette, we’re in the wilds of eastern Wake county, somewhere between Wake Forest, Rolesville, and Knightdale, hell-and-gone from civilization.
C’mon – Rolesville Road is not exactly out in the slashin’s – at least compared to Pilot!!
I’m so glad to hear about her – we’ve got to get over and see her sometime!
Tyger, come to dinner on the 30th or the Zettefest on Dec 14th.
We’ll trade baby stories.
My little Michael started walking about 1 day after I read this thread for the first time. So I feel your pride!
