I may be good, but I ain’t that good.
And that particular building has a concrete floor 3" below the grade of the yard…
Please regale us in new tales of Roundboy and Mandy the Martian…
Is it just me, or do any of you seem to feel hungrier when you eat breakfast than when you don’t?
Depends on what I eat. If I eat some cereal without a lot of fiber (and is full of air), I’m going to be hungry again in an hour or two. If I eat oatmeal, I’m not hungry for at least three hours, but if I eat Kashi Go Lean Crunch, I’m not hungry at lunchtime. If I don’t eat at all, I don’t notice for a couple of hours, then get whiny and disgruntled an hour or more before lunch.
Telperien I agree with you on that one. Seems that way with me.
Mrs. Roundboy (who I refer to as That Poor Woman) apparently lost a bet a little over 9 months ago, and had to have sex with Roundboy. As a result, there is now a second offspring with those genes.
Mandy overwashed her dog this weekend, and had to take it in to the vet for emergency surgery to remove apint or two of dirty soapy water from a body cavity of the dog. I overheard part of the conversation between her and Roundboy this morning when they came into work this morning.
No, I don’t have the specifics, and I don’t wanna hear them.
I took a week off two weeks ago. (The GF and I went prospecting for emeralds. More on that when I get her to release the roll of film from the camera. I left the digital camera sitting on the dining room table, and we had only her 35mm SLR with us.) (“But there are three more pictures on the roll to use! They’re going to charge you for a full roll anyway!” “Yes, but it will do me no good to have the pictures from this trip developed in eight months. Give me the damn film so I can get the pictures printed!”) Roundboy had to go to the doctor by the end of the week because of the stress of doing my job and his for five days straight. Funny thing is, I did both of those jobs twice for a week in the last month (once when he and Big Fat Paulie went to Miami for a convention, and once when the 2nd Spawn was delivered), and all that I missed was a half-hour of lunch one day the first time.
I guess it is dependent on what I eat, rather than just the fact of eating the breakfast. Looks like I’m going to have to start eating a hearty cereal or something again, instead of a bit of toast like I have been.
Well that was interestin’. I went to talk (informally) about a counseling job at a correctional institute in a little town twenty miles south of here. I walked into the Warden’s office and was fightin’ back tears and coughs from all the cigarette smoke! I mean, I thought nobody smoked in an office anywhere anymore. There was a cloud of smoke hangin’ in that room! When I got back to da cave a few minutes ago, the first thing I did was take off all my clothes, throw 'em in the washer and head for a shower. Hmmm… guess this makes me an official ex-smoker now cause I just could not wait to get out of those clothes and in the shower.
Ok, I can either check out some more jobs or go hang out at the pool for a while. Hmmmm… which one will it be…
ETA: Howdy Sean, welcome back! I’m glad I’m still yer sig.
As though you need an excuse to get nekkid…
Thanks all - I didn’t realize that I had said that in the MMP  !!! I think I’m just bummed out because so many people are still living in trailers.
So hmm… what’s MMP-ish to report …
Son got a short Mohawk kind of like this. It’s quite fetching.
That’s about all I got. Hope everyone has a nice Monday !
Breaking News!!!
I put a load of laundry in, changed the litter box, Swiffered the kitchen, and took Maggie out for her sunbathing. OK, that’s not news, it’s almost too mundane for an MMP.
Sean, I had an employee like that. His idea to speed up blowing up helium balloons was to blow them up, let the float 20 ft up to the ceiling, and put strings on them later. :smack: This was a college student, too.
Tel, it depends. I feel hungry if I eat waffles or cereal, not hungry if I have friut or eggs n’ meat.
LiLi, has QD come up with “Are you sure it’s yours?” yet.
Mrs. Neighbor: “The bear’s nekkid again”
Mr. Neighbor: “I’m gonna get him a job at the mill, boy’s got too much time on his hands.”
Welcome Queen of Lubricants! Don’t forget your offers of chocolate to FCM, and a round of nerve tonic for the guys.
To be fair, he did spend part of the day around some smokin’ prison officials.
Sean - How the heck do you overwash a dog? And to the point where a bunch of soapy water ends up inside of the canine? It’s not like they have a ventilation grille you need to be careful around.
Y’know who I love? People who, after explaining that we no longer carry parts for a particular brand of machine – twice – and that it is another company who bought that brand two years ago and who now carries those parts, feel compelled to argue with me about what we carry because our number is in their 10-year-old manual. You people are awesome. I don’t know what spilled in your end of the genepool, but I bet it makes a hell of a stiff drink.
Speaking of chocolate…
One of my coworkers brought back one of those Hershey Cacao Reserve bars when she came back from lunch. We all tried a piece and were amazed at the fact that it tastes like normal chocolate and not that dry, waxy crap that Hershey tries to pass off as chocolate.
I’m definitely going to be using the coupon I got in the mail to get me one of these bars for free. Hope the dark chocolate comes in at $2.50 or less.
Here’s my new favorite comic’s cartoon about Lucretia ![]()
Great OP, MamaTigs! New Orleans is my places to go list. I did have a professional convention scheduled there, but it was in late August 2005, and the convention ended up in Reno. We’re scheduled for New Orleans again in either 2009 or 2010. I hope we’re not bad luck!
I felt lazy this morning, so I went to Panera, and got the very last egg souffle. I was quite pleased myself, since they’re usually all gone by 9, and I got there at 20 after. Then I went to Target for cat litter and TP. One for me, one for them.
I noticed that gas is up to $3.49/gallon. Sigh. It doesn’t seem that long ago that $1.49 seemed outrageous. Actually, $2.49 doesn’t sound too bad, either. I expect it’ll be $4 by the end of the summer. Yes, I’m a pessimist.
Absolutely. It’s why I don’t generally eat breakfast- if I do, I eat way too much at lunch.
Howinhell do you wash your dog so it requires fluid extraction?
QD just left, and I’m going to put laundry away. I wish I didn’t have to work today.
With a pressure washer. :smack:
I think we’re going to get high-speed internet service. I called and got some prices today. Now to find out about wireless. I think I need to do some searching for old threads about it.
  :smack:
How stoned do you have to be before this starts sounding like a good idea?
 ALIENS!!! You can tell by their eyes!!

As far as the poor washed dog, sounds like somebody got a tad too energetic with the sprayer.
A pressure washer? On a dog? :smack: Has this woman bred? Maybe spawned is a better word for someone with that level of brain function. Poor doggy.
The reason you’re not hungry when you skip breakfast is that your body is starving, and it’s munching away at itself, i.e. eating non-cost effective muscle, and leaving fat. Needless to say, this slows your metabolism down. Eat complex carbs and/or protein for breakfast, instead of simple carbs, and you won’t be hungry until lunchtime. Eat when you’re hungry. Hunger is a good sign, it means your body is asking for food, instead of assuming there won’t be any forthcoming. Eating breakfast also helps speed up your metabolism and stabilize your blood sugar, which is generally perceived as a Good Thing. /soapbox Oops, sorry about that! :o I’ll go away now.
