Out into the cold.

Well, it’s not that bad. -2f. Not going to be fun though. The plow on my truck stopped working on Sunday. I messed with it a bit then but it got REAL cold and windy.

It’s much better today. No wind, and looks like sun. -2f I can deal with. Though It’s going to be tough to work in anything but leather work gloves. Lots of little screws and small bits that I will have to deal with. I’m going to stick a heat lamp on the pump so I have a little warmth.

I’m not bitching, just putting things off until the sun gets a bit higher. No garage, and the snow is building up.

I think that the hydraulics or control boxes for the controls have some water in them. I have been able to take care of that in the past with a couple of minute heating with a propane torch.

I think that the ice may have jammed up the control cables to the point where they have stretched, or broken. If they have stretched, I can deal with that. If they are broken, well, I know what I’m doing next weekend.

Off to set up some power and perhaps start thawing things out.

Could be worse, I suppose.

Bottom dropped out here about 6:58 this morning - wind chill at -17.8 F.

Gonna hang here on the 'net for a while - then maybe slip a DVD in this afternoon.

Good luck with the plow. Hope it’s not serious enough to end up tossing it over the cliff like I did with mine …

You people are made of steel. It’s in the high teens here in Chicago. The wind whipped up and snow is blowing all over. I HATE winter!

Sorry about your blade.

I had a small chip in my windshield fixed last summer. Low down on the passenger side. The repairman told me the chip was pretty deep and he couldn’t totally fix it. He said when it got cold enough and I turned on the defroster, the windshield would crack. This morning it cracked. It’s 5 degrees now. Snot-freezing cold, we call it.

I’m glad I’m down in the flats. It was 8 above this morning. This is my least favorite time of year.
