Am I the only flock of snow who prefers the taste of the outer shell from Tic Tacs? It has a distinctive sweet, floral flavour. It is interesting that you can feel the transition between this sweet flavour and the peppermint kick. What is inside that flavour? Is there any candy I could buy that tastes like the outside of tic tacs?
I always found it remarkably similar to the outer shell of Good n’ Plenty (which has the unfortunate disadvantage of being filled with licorice!)
Those shell suckers over in Café Society can probably do more justice to this OP rather than General Questions. Moved.

Isn’t it more or less hardened corn syrup?
Not really an answer, but somewhat different than a question. Sort of like an interrogative statement…
Obviously, I don’t know
Here’s what Wiki says
Trouble with that is the catch-all ‘natural and artificial flavours’ - the flavour component of the shell is likely somewhere obscured in that category.
I’ve always thought of the shell flavour as being somewhat vanilla-like. Maybe it’s artificial vanillin (i.e. without all the other stuff that makes natural vanilla complex)
To me the white ones would taste like vanilla before the mint kicked in but I only noticed it on the white ones.
