Bad example, Poly. The Islamic Republic of Iran does have good Christian citizens, at least one of whom serves in Parliament.
Actutally, it’s a good one, because Israel has good Arab Muslims, and Arab Christian citizens, 11 of whom are members of the Knesset, and one, Nawaf Mazalha, who is Deputy Minister of Health, and was in the past, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset.
The more and more I think about it, the less likely a logical, vaguely peaceful solution comes out of this. There is literally no way for both sides to win given the current climate - only various kinds of horrifying, beaten silence.
The Palestinians have so far been incapable of forming a halfway-decent government due to their codependence with Arafat, and the populace (never mind him) is in no mood to discourage terrorism. There have been many, many years for them to start acting like they deserve a state.
At this point I can’t really object, like the White House can’t, to Israel retaking the terroritories, demilitarizing them, etc. The only other option is waiting until the suicide bombers run low on bodies.

The Israelis do not feel the Palestinians are interlopers. They feel they are a threat, but not interlopers, certainly not the way the militant Palestinians feel that the Jews have absolutely no right to be there at all.
There are Israeli’s that believe the Palestinians should pack up and leave. This is no way one sided.
