Palin/Bachmann /'12

Fark Headline attached to this: “I felt a great disturbance in the Fark, as if millions of headlines suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.”

Palin to campaign for Bachman

The last paragraph of the article;

In some conservative and Republican circles there has been persistent buzz about a Palin-Bachmann presidential ticket in 2012. A Google search for “Palin Bachmann 2012” produces more than 2 million hits.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Ok folks, we started that idea here as a JOKE. Please Please Please dear Og, God, Allah, Vishnu and Gaia, let this be a JOKE!!!

No, let it be serious! They really would be my dream ticket to face.

Now, Universe, I know I haven’t been a very good pantheist, but if you could just give me this one little favor…

So, are there “Shit-for-Brains/Batshit-Crazy” bumper stickers in our future?

My flippant answer when this has come up before has always been along the lines of ‘Yeah, please do run’, but in all seriousness, if a Palin/Bachmann ticket does get the nomination, IMO the country would not be well served, whether or not they took the general election.

N.B.: The story says Palin is offering to campaign for Bachmann for re-election to Congress. Not a presidential ticket.

Yeah right, it started here. Just like when they called someone an asshat on Big Bang, proof that one of the writers is a Doper.

:rolleyes:

I wouldn’t vote for those two if they did a weekly lesbian session live from the Lincoln Bedroom.

I’d watch it online, sure. But vote?! Never.

I’m starting to question Gfactor’s decision to move this to GD… :smiley:

So am I. :wink:

If we must treat this seriously, I’d say I don’t see it as a balanced ticket: the two of them appeal to the same constituency, and Bachmann’s only been in Congress since 2007, so she wouldn’t do for Palin what Biden did for Obama.

On the one hand, it would be fun for a little bit.
On the stronger other hand, however, I am tired of being embarrassed about my country’s political races. I wish the Republicans would pull their heads out of their asses and run non-wackos with higher-than-usual I.Q.s, because I wouldn’t mind, just once, thinking that the choice is between two worthy candidates.

Actually, I’d like to see much more of Palin and I’m sure most guys would too. Albeit in Playboy, not the Whitehouse.

Yeah, but why would the Republicans nominate a Democrat?

:smiley:

Man, you don’t dare haul a striaght line like that out in front of this crowd. Some of these people are crude!

Before the MA election I would’ve agreed with you. But I think there is a serious risk Palin could win because she is ‘not the incumbent’.

Yeah I think we’ve been burnt enough times with dealing with stupid republican idea’s. Saying something something the Republicans do is so ridiculous it could never happen is a bad idea. They prove time and time again if they float rediculous notions long enough anything can happen.

Might not be true if the Democrats were capable of fighting misinformation. But well the Democrats don’t seem very good at fighting stupid notions.

If you can get a weekly lesbian session from the Lincoln bedroom on a ballot, I would vote for it.

What if that was one of their campaign promises?

OMG… can’t…stop… from… voting… for… them.

Meh. I’d go with Sarah Palin . . . but I’d be thinking of Tina Fey.

This has to be a Byzantine scheme by Newt Gingrich to sweep the country in a landslide when he wins the nomination. Only problem is, he isn’t conservative enough for the Republican base.
