Fark Headline attached to this: “I felt a great disturbance in the Fark, as if millions of headlines suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.”
In some conservative and Republican circles there has been persistent buzz about a Palin-Bachmann presidential ticket in 2012. A Google search for “Palin Bachmann 2012” produces more than 2 million hits.
:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Ok folks, we started that idea here as a JOKE. Please Please Please dear Og, God, Allah, Vishnu and Gaia, let this be a JOKE!!!
My flippant answer when this has come up before has always been along the lines of ‘Yeah, please do run’, but in all seriousness, if a Palin/Bachmann ticket does get the nomination, IMO the country would not be well served, whether or not they took the general election.
If we must treat this seriously, I’d say I don’t see it as a balanced ticket: the two of them appeal to the same constituency, and Bachmann’s only been in Congress since 2007, so she wouldn’t do for Palin what Biden did for Obama.
On the one hand, it would be fun for a little bit.
On the stronger other hand, however, I am tired of being embarrassed about my country’s political races. I wish the Republicans would pull their heads out of their asses and run non-wackos with higher-than-usual I.Q.s, because I wouldn’t mind, just once, thinking that the choice is between two worthy candidates.
Yeah I think we’ve been burnt enough times with dealing with stupid republican idea’s. Saying something something the Republicans do is so ridiculous it could never happen is a bad idea. They prove time and time again if they float rediculous notions long enough anything can happen.
Might not be true if the Democrats were capable of fighting misinformation. But well the Democrats don’t seem very good at fighting stupid notions.
This has to be a Byzantine scheme by Newt Gingrich to sweep the country in a landslide when he wins the nomination. Only problem is, he isn’t conservative enough for the Republican base.
