I think I wrote a post about the dangers of flyig with a leaking bag of water and a preterm Down’s baby who would likely need to be resuscited or respiratory support if born in route, etc.
Given the sorry state of search these days, this here post is all I can find, which post addresses only the flight while leaking water issue.
BTW, I also searched on me, and the earliest date I have the word “Palin” in a post is 9-9-08, which I suspect means I didn’t address the rumor either.
Stupid celebrity gossip, nothing more. Maybe there’s substance to it, maybe not, but who cares? I’m sick of that dingbat narcissist getting so much attention.
She loves nothing more than being falsely accused. It’s easy to deny a divorce rumor. That’s not something that’s really possible to falsify. I don’t think she would deny an affair out of honesty, but out of the knowledge that she can be proven a liar. She’s never failed to wail about false accusations before, even when they didn’t exist. I think it’s bizarre that she would remain silent about an accusation this inflammatory when she’s been completely histrionic about much less.
There’s nothing implausible about Sarah Palin getting a divorce.
I think many of us questioned whether anyone would make a decision to fly from Texas to Alaska while leaking amniotic fluid, and why.
Does that sound like a reasonable thing to do?
Muslimity?
I find it funny that you guys spent all that effort trying to claim the moral high ground against ‘Rovian’ smear campaigns and Swiftboaters and all the rest, and then at the first opportunity you pissed it all the way over Sarah Palin.
Idiots.
I find it funny that you’re so obsessed with American politics.
There was no greater champion of the swiftboaters than you. By contrast, not one person here has done anything similar to Palin.
So let me get this straight.
In one corner, we have Karl Rove, who was a Senior Advisor to the President of the United States. In the same corner are the Swiftboaters, who spent millions of dollars pushing a bullshit message across using a highly coordinated array of pseudojournalists, broadcasting syndicates, talk radio personalities, highly placed political figures, and PACs.
In the other corner is the website alaskareporter.com, a site whose undoubtedly astronomically high traffic makes dubyaintheflightsuitgivesmewetdreams.blogspot.com look like fucking Facebook.
And somehow you manage to draw a connection between the two? And why? Because this thread has a thousand posts of liberals saying, “AHA I KNEW IT, I knew that the Palins would get divorced because I prayed to Saint Obama the Anointed and He told me”?
No, of course not; your warped mind draws the “connection” – if I can slander the good word by making it refer to the opposite of what it usually refers to – because we liberals haven’t crashed the board with a flood of posts decrying the scurrilous behavior of those well-known, world-domineering, Pulitzer-Prize-Pwning researchers at alaskareporter.com.
Take your righteous indignation and shove it so far up your ass that the words “My sensitive feewings are hurt because wibwels are MEAN” bulge out of your forehead.
The reaction to this thread – whose OP, mind you, doesn’t even seem to accept the premise of the linked article – has been a collective shrug. A yawn and, at best, a “Eh, it wouldn’t surprise me.” And you know what? It wouldn’t surprise me. And do you know why? (That’s my last Rumsfeldian, self-directed rhetorical question, I promise). Because people get divorced.
But no, you decide instead to get all butthurt and bemoan what you perceive to be the latest and, no doubt, most dastardly pratfall of liberals. Because we’re indifferent rather than wholly outraged beyond all sense about some pissant gossipmongering article on some pissant page talking about someone we thought we were blessedly rid of.
I know you’ve got some brain cells in that head of yours. A lot of them, maybe. Which is why it’s so befuddling to me that you decided to turn your posting privileges for that latest gem over to the three brain cells who have been huffing paint in the back corner of your skull for the last 30 years.
[sub]For fuck’s sake… Swiftboaters = alaskareporter.com… yeesh[/sub]
Yeah, so sue me. I kinda like the coinage.
Rovian tactics, at least the relevant subset here, are to focus on your opponents strengths and then find some deceitful and slimy way to undermine them, or at least make them “controversial”. Like for instance, if your opponent is a good man with a strong record on children’s issues, start a campaign to suggest he’s a pederast.
Sarah Palin has no strengths, so such tactics can’t be applied.
Waterboy.
A lousy SILVERITE. I should have known it!
This is a woman who, in response to the Branchflower troopergate report finding she abused her power, announced that she was glad she’d been cleared of wrong doing. All that was necessary to prove her a liar was a highlighter and a copy of the report. She doesn`t seem to have any problem being proven a liar.
On the one hand, she’s right in knowing that her supporters are too stupid/lazy to check facts. For some reason she can`t grasp that her base is tiny and shrinking and has never made any effort to appeal to anyone else.
I think Palin was meant to be despised by the left. McCain threw her out there knowing she’d be despised, but he expected to get more traction from it, proving that the left were big meanies and scoop up the mythical “pumas” because being mean to a lady proved they were sexists. And of course many on the right think along the lines that “any enemy of my enemy,” and this is clear to see when they smugly talk about how Palin “scares” the left. Why, yes, she does, because she’s terribly unqualified to be president, but Republicans have proven themselves capable of shoving unqualified morons into the white house and we’ve experienced the sorry effects of that, so yeah, she scares me, but so do snakes and spiders, and I don’t think there mere fact that they scare a lefty means they ought to be president.
So yeah, the left has been hard on her. But that’s exactly what the right wanted. And they’ve exaggerated how hard she’s had it, and they’ve REALLY exaggerated the “attacks” on her family, because that’s the outcome they wanted. And Bricker is doing his part, because every foot soldier in the Republican army is also a spin doctor.
She was proven to be lying about the bridge to nowhere during the campaign and yet she continued to repeat that bit of her stump speech for some time. Why let inconvenient little facts get in the way of the rhetoric?
Sarah, a small town pol who got thrust into national politics by a very desperate McCain campaign. She is in no way capable or knowledgeable enough to occupy a seat on the national stage. She proved that . She just says really provincial and stupid things that resonate with people who are afraid of politicians and their government. Small town religious conservative nuts see her as their stumbling spokesman. She is great theater but bad and low politics. If the repubs want to keep defending her it will be at their peril. She can not be taught. When the campaign tried to clean her up enough to go on the campaign trail . They failed as she looted clothing allowances and reveled in her new found powers. I suggest the repubs get as far away from her as they can. Don’t defend her .Pretend she never existed.
Free Muslimity at sixteen to one!
Are those the odds on freeing Mumia?
