I used to eat Papa John’s a lot and for years missed not having a branch anywhere near me, but they can kiss my ass these days.
That little prick decided to get politically active back in 2011/12 when he and that guy from Whole Foods protested Obamacare. It was pretty obvious they didn’t care for Obama’s reelection campaign either and claimed that they would have no choice but to cut benefits or cut hours, even going to the point of sending dire warnings to their employees about what would happen.
He opened his mouth again and made his biases clear enough. Well now people are calling him out on it and they’re probably going to start eating elsewhere when they want pizza. He made that bed. He can sleep in it.
He’s not really going away, just out of the spotlight.
I do feel a bit sorry for franchisees though, Schnatter didn’t really represent the views of the people who have invested in his company that are now feeling the damage from his remarks.
Of course, they did know that they were signing up to sell some pretty shitty pizza, so my condolences are limited.
