BTW, Answer is Ludgate Wedding Über Alles!
I haven’t seen Happy Endings, but otherwise I agree with your thesis. Parks and Rec continues to get funnier and funnier with every single episode. And tonight’s was exceptionally great, in both humor and story.
Community is the best sitcom on the air at the moment, and Parks & Rec is great, but still not as good as 30 Rock, whose shine *is *starting to fade a little.
I’m not even sure what Happy Endings is.
Is that the new Paul Reiser show? That was pretty good. A blatant ripoff of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but they ackowledged that in a really meta scene with Larry David, and it was pretty funny. The whole idea of Reiser playing (as himself) a game show host who can’t contain his irritation with the contestants is a good one. I liked it enough to watch it again.
As for P&R, the Andy/April wedding somehow ended up being really touching.
No, the Paul Reiser show is titled, appropriately enough, “The Paul Reiser Show.” Which I didn’t find very funny. Andrew Daly was probably the best part of it. I’m a little disappointed that Perfect Couples got cancelled in favor of it, because it was actually starting to get pretty funny.
And yeah, I got a little choked up at the wedding.
Parks and Rec is overrated. Not bad, but overrated.
30 Rock is very silly, but generally well-executed. It also has a distinctive style, which many current comedies can’t claim.
Happy Endings is far too new to pass final judgement upon. I get the impression that the cast is competent enough to carry a decent show, but won’t necessarily get good scripts to work with.
I can’t get into Parks and Recreation. I’ve tried, I’ve really really tried, but it just doesn’t do it for me.
30 Rock consistently makes me laugh out loud at least two or three times a week. It’s both funny and clever, with excellent writing. Alec Baldwin is great, and Tina Fey … mmmm, Tina Fey.
Didn’t see Happy Endings, so no opinion there.
My weekly TV/DVR watching these days is pretty much 30 Rock, Community, Modern Family, The Office, and The Middle (when I have time to watch The Middle). And the occasional baseball game. Anything new would probably have to knock one of those out of my rotation.
Casey Wilson, who plays Penny on Happy Endings, was on Craig Ferguson the other night. There’s something intensely sexy about her that I can’t put my finger on.
30 Rock is usually great, although last night’s ep wasn’t as good as some others. It’s been a little more uneven this season.
On the other hand, Parks & Rec keeps getting better and last night was one of the best episodes of its run. The wedding was really sweet, as is Leslie & whatshisname’s budding relationship. Anyone know if Rob Lowe is going to stick around next season?
Where and what time is ‘Happy Endings’ on? Is it any good.
This year, Parks > **30 Rock **for me… One show got a lot better while the other show slipped a little. 30 Rock just isn’t what it was this season.
I thought I read somewhere that he would be sticking around, but I can’t find it now. I hope he does, adding him and Adam Scott was a great move for the show. Mark was fine in the beginning, when he and Ann were the “Jim and Pam” of the show, but once they moved beyond being a copy of The Office, he didn’t really fit anymore.
I agree. Adam Scott has been the perfect straight man this season.
30 Rock is overrated IMO. Best comedies on tv right now are Peep Show, Parks and Rec, The League and It’s always sunny in Philadelphia.
Try once in a while to get into community but can’t fully do it.
Every wedding needs somebody to throw dead doves on the floor.
I thought Parks N Rec was pretty entertaining. Watched it several times now and it’s always been worth the while. Last night was no exception.
Never have watched 30 Rock, nor am I likely to. Like 2 1/2 Men’s star, I just find Alec Baldwin someone I don’t find humorous and don’t care to support (read “enable” angry, alcoholic douchebag).
Happy Endings? It was… tolerable. Can’t see it ever being on scheduled record though.
30 Rock was meh last night. I think it has to do with the episode being plot driven than character driven.
Parks and Recreation was very good though. I was rolling on the floor with the tooth pulling in the opener.
Every time I see her or her name, I think of her brilliant SNL bit as the paralized stripper. Maybe that has something to do with it?
I Like P&R but I was hoping Andy would get back with Anne. April is a crazy bitch.
That could reflect the fact that I personally, have a mad crush for Rashida Jones (Anne).
Rashida, Aubrey and Amy. F. Marry. Kill
Stern Bit
Nuh-uh! April’s awesome (with awesomesauce). Anne’s pretty, but kind of boring. April’s more my type. I’ve been rooting for them the entire season… Love their lackadaisical, apathetic but playful and impulsive personalities. Andy’s childlike enthusiasm for almost anything combined with his naivety makes for some great comedy.
Andy and Ron Swanson make the show for me. Parks & Rec is in a tie with Community for me.
