Parse "Drawn Together" for me

OK, I’ve kinda been enjoying this show, but I have never been enough of a cartoony to know who the hell everyone is supposed to be.

Wooldoor Sockbat: Some kinda Stimpy/SpongeBob thingie?

Xandir: I have no idea. Someone from a video game?

Toots: OK, obviously Betty Boop.

Foxxy Love: Someone from a '70s TV cartoon, I’m guessing?

Princess Clara: Every Disney-movie heroine?

Spanky Ham: I am not even going to guess.

Ling Ling: One of those Japanese whatsits that were so popular ten years ago?

Capt. Hero: Superman? Or is there someone else more obvious I am missing?

Xandir is supposed to be Link from The Legend of Zelda video game series. Foxxy is supposed to be a sassy 70s cartoon a la Josie and the Pussycats. Ling Ling is supposed to be a Pokemon. As for Spanky Ham, you’re on your own with that one.

From the IMDB:

Pretty much sums up my guesses. Wooldoor would be closer to a Spongebob than a Stimpy. Xandir reminds me of Link from Legend of Zelda, but probably draws from any of those RPG games (Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star, etc.). Foxxy seems an obvious nod to Josie and the Pussycats. Ling Ling is without a doubt a rip on Pokemon’s Pikachu.

Don’t ask me how I’m so sure about this, I just am.

Damn you Mr. Blue Sky :stuck_out_tongue:

Spanky Ham is more along the lines of an internet flash cartoon. Vulgar for vulgarity’s sake.

I thought Spanky Ham was supposed to represent the internet/computerized cartoons. That’s why he gets computer viruses while the other don’t.

They had a guest cartoon a while ago that was supposed to represent Strawberry Shortcake, too.

Despite what the anonymous IMDb contributor said, Spanky Ham is not supposed to be Porky Pig. He is supposed to be your standard, foul-mouthed Internet Flash cartoon character. As for the rest, you seem to be on the right track, but most of the humor comes from the fact that the characters are either exaggerations of their origins (Ling-Ling has many stereotypical Asian traits, Foxxy Love has many stereotypical black traits, etc.) or are the exact opposite of their would-be character traits (Captain Hero is a sissy, Clara is a racist, etc.)

The best part about Ling-Ling is that he speaks (I assume) Japanese, and is sub-titled. In the sub-titles, all his 'l’s are replaced by 'r’s.

Pokemon! That’s what I was trtying to think of. Ahhh, takes me back to my late thirties . . . .

In the debut episode of the first season, when the premise and characters were introduced, Spanky Ham was described as a “crass internet download”.

I finally watched Wednesday’s episode last night.

‘The Mad Felcher? He sucks ass!’

“The tiniest ass you can tap without setting off an Amber Alert.”

A friend and I were discussing this Friday night. We agreed that Spanky also reminds us of the pig character from the online comic Sinfest.

Xandir also serves as the token gay character, because what would the show be without a token gay character, right?

Well, Foxxy is bisexual leaning towards lesbian, so TWO token gay characters…?

Foxxy is polysexual- she’s also done Wooldoor and had Ling Ling down her panties.

I thought Foxxy had only shown Wooldoor how to masturbate… He didn’t touch her.

And she and Captain Hero will always have Paris.

Apparently they touched enough that Wooldoor had to have an abortion afterwards.
