Party Quirks (game started).

I was asking about flavor. The food here is WAY too sophiaticated! Commoners eat too, ya know.

You know who? Like, the dark lord from Harry Potter?

Boy, here’s a reality pill.

Y’know, I’ve been here four years and this game feels like it’s been running since then. This place is a ghost town. I’m gonna go back into the yard and lurk some more.

OOG: Can we call this one over? The hosts have abandoned the party (and it’s not like they haven’t been on the SDMB – Hoopy and Malacandra have each posted several times in other threads, including other game threads).

I say mark this one up for the guests and end it… mainly ‘cause my quirk is really freakin’ hard and getting harder all the time due to certain circumstances. (Also, because I’m dying to find out what Hardly’s quirk is!)

I don’t see a problem with it. The remaining quirks are really hard; I regret not making them easier. If a couple more people rubberstamp choie’s suggestion we can call it a day.

I just think the hosts’ participation should be a quotidean part of their routine.

OOG: I don’t mind the quirks being hard–the challenge is the fun part! You did a great job in concocting some doozies. But I don’t think the hosts have their hearts in it; they’ve not made a huge attempt to investigate any of our quirks, except Hoopy’s question to me, which was a good one.

Hiya, I have completely failed to set aside the necessary time to play this game as it should have been played, for which I apologise. I suspect choie would have made a much better host than I did and I would love to hear her reads on the remaining unguessed guests - that’s certainly way better than letting it just fizzle out.

I agree. I’ve grown a bit tired of my quirk, especially with a grand total of ZERO guesses on mine. :frowning:

**I’m cool with anything. If someone feels like they’re close to guessing mine, I can keep blathering.
**

Yeah, I agree that time’s up. If anyone has any guesses on anyone, they should go ahead and speak up, but after a day or two for that, let’s just let it all public.

“Bloviate” is such a cool word. It brings to mind a blue whale talking out of its blow-hole. And it just won’t shut up about how awesome the ocean is and how yummy krill is and how everyone should try some at least once because otherwise you’re just blowing smoke out of your hole, right?

All right, it’s officially open season on guests.

Say, Maha, have you forgotten to take your medication, this evening? Do you have some Risperdal in your car I can fetch for you? And there’s still lots of punch left to wash it down.

etv, what’s your favorite food? Surely it’s not Cheez Whiz!

[back in game mode]

It wouldn’t help. Nothing can.

That sounds great. I accept.

OOG I’ve already guessed Mahaloth’s quirk (privately confirmed by him) and I won’t ruin it for others. And he’s done a brilliant job at it – it’s a fabulous quirk, Inner!

etv1’s quirk seems to be being obsessed by the party food?

HardlySanguine really baffles me. Lots of his/her posts sound like they were written by Lewis Carroll or spoken by Johnny Depp in the “weird, childish and somewhat eerie” Tim Burton film of your choice. So cheery yet creepy at the same time! Then there’s the made-up quotes and the poem (nice job on that btw), and the reference to Time Cat… I dunno, maybe s/he’s Willy Wonka? I’m stumped.

I’m not sure I know enough pop culture to get some of these. I’d make a terrible host.

choie is some kind of erudite show off. Not sure what all the French is for. Un sort de ‘je ne sais quoi’ pour les plèbes*?*

Crowbar is paranoid. Some kind of prey or rape victim?

Mahaloth is my mother. (no but really, multiple personality emo-kid?)

Hint about mine:
I think maybe I’ve been too mean. All the posts I’ve made are the real me, for the most part. I’m just being silly and having fun making weird posts.

Interesting that choie pegged me as creepy. People have said that about me IRL, too. I don’t mind being an amalgamation of Lewis Carrol and Johnny Depp, though.

And I’m a guy.
[/oog]

I know it’s a bit late for breakfast, but since the hosts aren’t feeding us, I’ve been making some food for everyone. I’m just fascinated by this Mickey-Mouse-shaped waffle maker. How the heck does it know when it’s done creating the world’s most awesome waffle?

OOG: (Heh, not even close, HardlySanguine. Actually I think my fellow guests are waay more likely to guess my quirk than the hosts, as we’ve been interacting more… )

I forgot about Crowbar! My guess is that s/he doesn’t trust the hosts and thinks they’re spying on him or her.

So to do some more investigative work on your quirk…
Ahhhh, so it’s not the content of the posts so much, hmm? There must be something hidden in there, then. There’s gotta be some clue in the post you changed, the one about bobbing for apples in the pail… Gonna go back and dig some more.

Actually at one point I thought you were living in videogames. (The reference to “those large bars really hurt when they fall on you” sounded like a Tetris reference!)
Still OOG…

Another guess I had for Hardly was that you had to use alliteration at least once in every post. But that wasn’t consistent, especially in that apparently flubbed pair of posts re: the apple pail, so I gave that one up.

Okay okay, here’s my possible guess:

Do you have to use at least two homonyms in each post?

You don’t even have a mother and I don’t even have a personality.
