Pass the salt in the MMP

According to Breezeline, someone cut a fiber line so we’re sans intrarwebz. So you’ll have to wait for my report on Roxy’s testing. But she did pretty amazing stuff.

Off to read.

Howdy y’all. Things is happnin’ around here. Currently pouring, but it seems I fixed the leak around the stack vent on the roof, so that’s nice. No longer a drip from the bathroom ceiling. Now gotta do some drywall…grumble, grumble.

One client is taking forever to get their floor finished so’s I can finish an install, so that sucks. Another client is having me figure out computer inputs from various devices. Anybody know about RFID? Pushbuttons into a computer, no problem. Various pieces of plastic…not so much.

Read much, retained little, so hugs and rahs as needed.

All be safe! That’s an order.

You all know the flushing mechanism you have inside your toilet tank? Hubs broke the one in his toilet and stomped out to go to town to get another one. It’s a shame he didn’t stop to say anything to me cause I would have reminded him that last time this happened, he bought an extra.

So, this has been entertaining, but I’m getting bored so I got the extra guts and fixed the toilet, installed the bidet thingy and put everything away.

I probably shoulda got a spade when I was in the shed…

I used to ride the bus with a juggler/busker after work. He said that learning to juggle was the easy part (he taught me to juggle three tennis balls while we were waiting for the bus), learning to juggle in front of and joke with strangers was the hard part.

ROTFL!!! Just a wee bit of gaslighting?

He deserves it, I totally agree.

Yeah, well, we needed a spare flushing thingy anyhow cause I just used the last one.

He’s not talking to me ATM. Its sometimes hard to tell if he’s not talking to me because he’s mad or if its because his game moved to a different level, but I’m fairly sure I will get over it.

Has anyone been to a By-the-Bucket? I saw one in town today and am thinking about checking it out tomorrow. Hubs is all atkins so skettie and garlic bread is right out and I really do miss it.

ehh it’s spaghetti… when they add lasagna or fettucini or something more interesting

JtC, checked their locations and the closest to me is in Oklahoma, so haven’t tried them. Looks interesting. And yea! for your Mad plumbing skills.

Bumba, glad the battery lasted long enough. The front yard can be done tomorrow…

flyboy, looks like to may make a nice sum from the old gun. Good luck.

talkie, glad things went well for Mom-unit at her appointment.

Soccer has been coached and Mac-n-Cheese consumed along with a glass of flat Pepsi (the 2-Liter bottle expired 20 June 2022 but I kinda like the taste without all the bubbles). Have to check the rest of them to see when they expire.

Nothing much on the agenda for tomorrrow so can stay up as late as I want to tonight. All y’all take care.

what I hate is some of the store brands (sams club, Aldis among others ) are just a mouth full of fizzz that overrides any flavor it might have …

My super power is the ability to not only read the instructions, but to follow them. It’s amazing how often that works.

I’m probably going to try the By the Bucket place tomorrow. I’d also like different offerings, but I’m seriously pasta deficient so I’ll take what I can get.

Wednesdays are surplus produce days so I’ll be in town around lunch time, such a great excuse. My side hustle has started to include vegan cheese (don’t ask unless you want speechifying) and I’m planning on buying a couple of different oat milks to see if I can avoid having to make it myself cause I’m all lazy and stuff.

Hubs is talking to me again, I guess I only took one ball this time.

(laughing) Maybe you should change the oil in the car or something.

TIL they make spray cheese to go in Kongs for dogs. < save knowledge for next dog >

I’d drink a beer with y’all.(I do miss meeting Mumpers on my travels).

$2 per meatball? I’ll just make Alton Brown meatballs

I’ll just buy frozen heat & serve.

Aldi makes good ones. that’s what I use when I don’t have time to make fresh.

I got a call back. Then things REALLY got complicated. I will spare you the boring details. After a mere five more phone calls, I think it’s pretty much resolved. Sort of. I was supposed to get a phone call by the end of the day today to schedule the regular ultrasound. Of course, that didn’t happen. I’ll give the imaging schedulers until noon tomorrow before calling again. (They have a history of making people wait for weeks and then having the wrong info. I heard aaallll about them from the oncology nurse.

The blinds installation guy was supposed to be here before noon. I forgot to ask which time zone. He was a no-show.

But wait. There’s more. Since the itch shots clinic is near the eye clinic, I stopped in, just in case the lens had arrived. HAhahahahaha! Not only has it not arrived, but Melissa said the company, which had told her they’d shipped it, now says they’d merely anticipated shipping it, and the lens hadn’t “set” right (confirming my suspicion it’s made of Jell-o), so they had to start all over again. So…could be weeks yet?

But the fun wasn’t over yet, friends! After my shots (which did go smoothly), I walked the half mile to where I catch the bus and failed to see that the bus was “outbound,” not inbound. I spent an hour looking out the window and muttering, “Where the hell ARE we?” A mere 90 minutes after I boarded, the bus got to my town, and I walked the 2 miles home.

One last irk: my sister-in-law, who is entirely missing the diplomacy gene and has a low emotional IQ, insulted my sister–the one with morbid obesity and horrible knees. SIL is very thin-skinned, so I have to be careful how I handle it. She (SIL) has already called once and texted me twice. Meanwhile, my sister must be really hurt.

Anyway, I went to the gym to burn off stress, but as I’m still upset, I’m having a medicinal martini.

To end this rant on a happy note, I came home to new blinds!

Aww. I love you, too, swampy. I mean it. You’re so kind. For the record, I may THINK these mean fantasies, but I swear, I never act on them. I can’t stand hurting anyone’s feelings.

JtC, you’re my hero. I LOVE that you fixed the toilet and installed the bidet. I know you’re very fond of your hubs, but if your absence will make his heart grow even fonder, a trip to Michigan to share a bowl with shoe might be in order.

Oh, my gosh, something ELSE we have in common! I thought I was the only one who liked soda pop that way.

I have an original Armalite AR-180 with an Aimpoint sight. I was hoping to get $1,400 for it. A friend showed me where they’re going for up to 4 kilobucks. :astonished:

The Shiloh (American-made) Sharps 1874 Sporting Rifle I really wanted $1,600 for (to break even) is going for about a thousand more than that.

Since PayPal won’t allow gun sales, I’ll have to figure out how to get paid so I can start listing things.

Oh… A case manager from DSHS called Wifey, RN today. (Called, instead of texting.) A long-term patient, whom The Missus saw Friday, died today. Wifey, RN says that makes eight in the last two months (including the guy she hadn’t seen yet). She said, ‘It’s been a rough couple of months.’

I know that working with homebound geriatric patients carries the risk, but damn! :frowning:

flyboy, that just sucks. Though they didn’t live long enough to say it, I’m quite sure those patients were very, very relieved and happy that they had such a wonderful and compassionate presence as Mrs. LA.

I told The Missus that she made them feel better in their last days.

ETA: She said she’s going to leave a card in the door for the wife of the guy who died today. She just broke her arm, they both had depression, and she never leaves her bed.

True! And there’s no higher calling.
