Anybody else watching it? The first ep’s focus was dark, very dark humor. The second which was primarily PM as a young boy was even darker and alot less funny.
I like it and will continue watching.

I want to see it, but no tengo cable.
Both episodes (so far) have been terrible.
Episode 1 struck me as nothing more than an acting demonstration by new Kahn: finds out his father died, comes to NY, gets wasted, goes through withdrawal, gets wasted, goes through withdrawal, gets wasted goes through withdrawal.
Episode 2 was even worse. His father (Elrond of Rivendell) was a lunatic for reasons unknown. Main story-line really doesn’t move forward for the entire hour.
I thought Trust on FX and The Terror on AMC were bad, but Patrick Melrose is leaving them in the dust.
I’ve been keeping my eye on this for possible future binging. Over at Rotten Tomatoes it’s rated 88% by critics, but only at 48% by fans. That’s a biiiig gap. Esp. considering the number of Cumberbatchers out there. OTOH its fan rating at IMDb is 8.3 which is quite high.
Definitely will wait to see how it finally ends up.
Just watched it and I thought it was excellent. Hard to watch in parts due to subject matter but well done by the entire cast. Dark humor, excellent character exploration. One of the best things I’ve seen in recent memory.
