Paul McCartney weds American heiress Nancy Shevell

Two trivia items:

The bride is the cousin of Barbara Walters.

The wedding day would have been John Lennon’s 71st Birthday.

I wont venture to voice my opinions about good ol’ Sir Paul’s ego, personality or his alleged “music”, at least as of late, but is anyone else STUNNED that the bride is 51 years old?!?

She looks like she is in her late 20’s or early 30’s at the most, and though I am no expert, it doesn’t look to me like it’s due to plastic surgery or other artificial means.

She’s not a supermodel, but still very attractive, and if she is indeed 51, she is doing something very, VERY right…

Well, as much as I loathe Baba Wawa, she has held up remarkably well. The new Mrs. McCartney must benefit from the same generous gene pool. I wish them the best.

The town hall where the ceremony took place is the same place where Paul married his first wife, Linda, in 1969.

Of course she is an heiress. You don’t expect anyone who sang “All You Need is Love” to actually practice it, do you?

I’m sure he’s not after her money!

That was John Lennon. The one with the glasses. The person who just got married is Paul McCartney. The cute one.

And since McCartney is richer than Croesus, your implication of gold-digging on his part is pretty laughable.

Seems to me he married an heiress so that this wife wouldn’t be the gold-digger the last one was.

Yeah, Paul hardly has to try to grift off a sugar-momma.

So…three wives, five legs…

Yeah, his previous wife could run circles around this one.

In the thumbnails she looks quite young, in the bigger photos I can see she has more lines around her eyes and mouth than I’d expect to see on a woman of about 30, but I could easily believe she was late 30s or early 40s. In fact, if she were 41 instead of 51 I’d say she looked darn good for her age.

She’s probably hopping mad about this.

Well someone had to take her down a peg.

Yeah, and his dog? He has 3 legs, but he can’t run.

and marrying her in England makes a difference as well, the laws aren’t nearly the same as in america

Vice President of a trucking company? Tolkien would be proud of McCartney. He went from Leg-o-loss to Heir-of-horn.

[sub]ok, it’s a stretch but…c’mon![/sub]

Didn’t he just get divorced like a month ago?

When I saw the word “heiress” I had to laugh. He must have picked someone independantly wealthy in hopes he won’t be paying through the nose again.
Choosing the place where he and Linda were married, and doing it on John Lennon’s birthday, might have had a special significance to him. But I just think it’s creepy. And I loved the Beatles.

Wikipedia says separated in 2006 and divorced in 2008.

But yeah, it does seem more recent than that.
