This new PC that I just got came with one of those little cameras that look like an eyeball staring back at you.
Okay, now what do I do with it? Does anyone use one and if so, for what purpose and how do you do what ever it is that you do?

Step by step: (1) connect camera, (2) go to netmeeting and contact me there, (3) start undressing… (we can continue in NM, see ya)
Hey, I’ve been waiting for you in NM for the last hour!
Seriously now, most people use their computer cams just to chat in NM and other programs which allow you to see the other side. What you do or show is up to you but if you log on to NM you better get ready for often proposals for “a good time”. You will also see men outnumber women by 30 to 1. (Not to mention half of those “women” are actually men, that’s why their cam is “not working today”)
I use my computer cam often to take pictures of anything and everything I want to show by email. Today I took some shots of a small replacement part for a CD mini disk deck I need to order.
I have taken many pictures of myself, objects I want to show, etc. A picture is worth way more than 1000 words.
I do not have a digital cam but I can connect the computer cam to my laptop and take pictures of things in other places. Also make video clips.
A couple weeks ago with my laptop I took a whole bunch of pictures in my boat showing damaged items that need to be repaired. This means the people I am getting estimates from get a much better idea of what is involved. Of course, a digital camera is much better suited for this but much more expensive than a computer cam.
Recently i have sent my friends by email pictures of souvenirs I brought from Asia,
I also emailed my dentist a very close-up shot of a cavity in a tooth so he could see what he needed to fix. He was very impressed with that. i have good pictures of the root canal which I have sent to my friends.
I have also shot pictures of RAM modules and other stuff. If you are selling anything on ebay you need to put photos up there so people can see them.
I have a collection of photos of the maple tree outside my window showing all the difeerent colors it goes through with the change of seasons…
Still, if you want to chat in Netmeeting sometime let me know and I promise I won’t ask you to undress (at least not in the first five minutes:) )
I hooked up my camera, got undressed, and then realized I had no idea how to get to netmeeting! I am doing damn good just knowing how to turn this thing on.
It sounds like this camera will be a lot of fun as soon as I am able to figure the dumb thing out. I’ll keep you in mind when I want to take it out for a test drive.
Well, try http://www.truetech.com download the software, install it (completely utterly free)…run it. It’s just awesome for your cam!..Just completely easy to use & you get your very own web page made for you & your own chat room & you can save pictures & email them. Did I say its free?
