And (not to beat a dead horse) I skimmed around in the first few episodes searching for the conversation I remembered about imps and couldn’t find it, so googled for a transcript. It was midway through 2x01:
Auggie: Reminds me of the time when I came home. What were you, like, 12 years old or something?
Keith: Oh, here we go.
Auggie: And there’s Chris running around the house. He’s being chased by 30 of these knee-high… What the hell do you call them things?
Keith: Imps.
Auggie: Imps, yeah. Running around. I go, “Chris, what the hell are you doing?” He looks at me and goes, “Nothing.” Nothing? Oh my God. It was a week before Keith told me.
Keith: No, I didn’t want to narc.
Auggie: Chrisper’s rummaging around the munchkin dimension eight doors down.
For anyone thinking that most of the Rock music from Peacemaker is from 40 odd years ago, the song at the end of S02E04, was A Shot at Redemption by the Swedish band H.E.A.T, a band which I’ve seen live five times in the last year… From their 4th album in 2014, and they released their 8th album this April.
The wife and I watched the latest ep Friday and Saturday I had a thought.
Would the Nazi America have rock and roll music? Rock and roll was invented in America taking beats and rhythms from blues and jazz songs. Who would be making that genre of music if the blues and jazz players are locked away in camps?
And the Nazis never stole anything from anyone? And the likes of Zepplin pretty much stole a bunch of black blues songs, including crediting themselves for Nobody’s fault but mine, from blind Willie Johnson.
But another film I have watched which had alternative future had 70s music with titles such as Meet me at the gallows (which apparently there is a real song of, but not the version in the film, which sounded like a Bowie serious sung version). I’m not naming the film because that information kind of ruins it.
But that doesn’t fit with the style, so why not go with the former?
I’m any case, it’s not something you can reason through. It’s a much much bigger change than a butterfly flapping it’s wings. The chances that Chris is born, is also a superhero at argus, and knows the same people are also changed.
I binge-watched the first season and all of the available episodes of the second season. Great cast, interesting plot.
It took me a few minutes to realise that I had read the Teen Titans issues where Adrian Chase/Vigilante was introduced and this was supposed to be the same character (sort of).
No excuse for not noticing the mural. But he gave a good reason for not noticing the books. Also, he grew up with a white supremacist father, so he’s probably used to there being very few POCs around. That whole dimension would have reminded him of his childhood, no wonder he felt at home there.
Interesting that his father in Earth-2 (that other dimension) was less of an asshole than his actual father. Auggie-2 even said something about Auggie, that he seemed dark. And is Keith going to be the antagonist going forward?
