People who long rants and don't include tl;dr!

I accidently the whole rant.

I’d have devastating rejoinders for every dumb post on this board, except that I’m far too busy saving lives and benefiting humanity. Gotta run Bye!

It’s only because his time is so important. You can’t expect a busy mover and shaker like marochko to waste valuable seconds typing all the words.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone use a TL-DR summary at the end of a post here. Even though the OP was badly written, the idea has some merit.

It’s not so much an issue in Original Posts (maybe once a week there’s a WTF OP), but in long debates there’s a problem with Topic Drift. One debater makes a point and offers four supporting data points, then someone attacks the weakest of those four data points and gives three arguments against it.

The next person attacks the weakest of those three arguments, and from there it’s off to the hinterlands.

Including a one sentence summary at the end of a post might help keep discussions on track.

To summarize:Buttercup is marry’ Humperdinck in a little less than half an hour

I assume the title meant to say “People who long for rants…”

I know I sometimes get a longing for a good rant.

Don’t give me that crap! Your kind makes my blood boil, you pustulent –

Oh. Complaints are in the next thread over, in 12A. This is abuse.

Nah, it’d be better to have the TLDR summary at the beginning. More like a TLDR abstract.

This whole thread is tldr.
tldr:
People should make a tldr for threads so I don’t have to waste my time reading an entire thread, which is usually multiple pages long, and then at the end of the thread I come to find that I really don’t care about what the thread was about. I think as an enlightened people we could perform this little courtesy for each other and thus provide each other a little sense of community and friendship. I doubt this will get implemented though because there is such a wide range of personalities on this board and after all you can’t please all the people all the time unless we invent lifelike robots that can perform oral on demand for both genders.

tldr:
We need to invent lifelike robots that can perform oral on demand for both genders.

You lost me halfway through the first sentence. If you can’t make your point without all those words, then you suck.

eta: Tl;Dr
you suck

I thought it was short for nooner.

Everybody knows about TLDR (or TL;DR).

But is there a sub for Too Stupid ; Why Did I Read That Shit?

Is that bad?

Jeez, do I have to put a smiley face on everything ?

I’m just amused by the possibility of something like the following scenario:

Colibri: Hey, Czar. What’s up. Anything new in Opinion?
Czarcasm: Well, you know, the usual. Lot polls today. Did you see that thing about “Which brand of paper clip to you prefer?” God Almighty, don’t these people have lives?
Colibri: Yeah. What’re you having? (To bartender) Gimme a cuba libre.
Czarcasm: Black coffee, thank you. Something has to wake me up. (Across the bar) Marley! Over here! (Marley23 approaches, sits down)
Colibri: (Looks at Marley23) Man, are you peeved or what!
Marley23: Hyperpeeved. But that’s no surprise.
Czarcasm: Oh, you mean the latest between Dio and Rover?
Marley23: Yeah, what else is new. 134 posts before I clocked out. I bet they’re still at it. Exactly like my 9- and 10-year-old—I just can’t spank them.
Colbri: Huh. Oh, I got a text from Gfactor. He’s not gonna make it tonight. A lot of bannings, I guess.
Czarcasm: Hey, what’s the deal with Ed recently.
Colibri: Whaddya mean?
Czarcasm: Moody all the time. Some kind of troll’s gotten into his bonnet
Marley23: (To bartender) I’ll have the usual.
Colibri: Right. I’ve noticed. Rumor is samclem’s moonlighting at another board. I bet that’s it. Passing on little tidbits (makes air quotation marks) if you know what I mean.
Czarcasm: Hah! Wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
Marely23: So, anyway, what was going on with that first-timer posting an entire divorce subpoena in Pointless? Was that legit?
Colibri: I dunno. TLDR. Not my forum.
Marely23: But the papers were being served to YOU.
Colibri:

I don’t understand why people should put tl;dr at the end of their own posts.

tl;dr

That makes it sound like I didn’t read my own post.

tl;dr

Maybe tl;dr should be used like the periods in one word sentences, like I. Don’t. Give. A. Fuck. About. The. OP.

tl;dr

Yeah, I always thought “tl;dr” was generally used to criticize someone else’s post, not summarize one’s own.

Still, OP, if your time is so all-fired important, why the fuck are you wasting so much of it reading all this “random crap that noone cares about” anyway?

tl;dr: Pit Fail.

This made me laugh! If I get fired I’m blaming you.

A quick summary would be okay. If it’s a Pit rant, we could call them “madstracts.”

I don’t know about you, but I want to read more Adventures of the Mod Squad (or Moddies, as they’re known on the street).

There are way too many letters in the Latin alphabet. We should really trim it down to about eight letters, max. More than that just takes up too much space on the keyboard and is really too hard to keep straight.

Stranger

BUSTED! How did you know it stupid if you didn’t read it? Huh? Huh?
