Perhaps the world's most difficult puzzle. Perhaps not.

I was wandering around on the internet and I came across this challenge.

The object of this puzzle is simple: guess where the photo was taken.

A simple rule but prepare to have your knowledge of geography, history, sociology, architecture, biology, linguistics, meteorology, and quantum physics tested to their limits.

If you’re ready, take the challenge.

This is a joke, right?

I was not ready for that level of challenge. Pushed me to the edge, all my friends are dead.

It would be funny if it was Las Vegas or somewhere other that the obvious.

Brian

Shenzen?
Macao?
Rajasthan?

There are actually a ton of Eiffels about…

Judging from the previous contest, I don’t think they’re trying to fool anyone.

Instead of a couple of pigeons in the foreground, they should have had an elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna.

I’m guessing it’s some kind of joke. The obvious answer doesn’t seem like it should be the correct answer, but if you look at the previous contest the obvious answer was the right answer.

In my case, yes. But I think the website is serious.

If you really want a challenge: https://geoguessr.com/

It shows you a series of Google Maps street views that could be anywhere… village on Java, Finish backroads, Australian outback. You have to guess on the map where you are. You get points for proximity.

Well I’m stumped. Mt. Rushmore? Ayers Rock? It’s a tough one, pigeons could be anywhere.

They just want your info…so they can send you lots of cool spam…don’t play the game…it’s a trap. Read the terms and conditions

Surprised myself and did surprisingly well. Miss a spot in Nebraska by only 30 miles and another in Jakarta by about 150 miles.

I went all Kübler-Ross on this one.

First stage, pure Curiosity: What the Hell. I’ll click. See what’s up.

Second stage, Disbelief: No. It has to be a trick. See if you can see anything out of place in the blurry bits.

Third stage, Suspicious: Oh, it’s a double-bluff. They think you think it’s complex, but it’s really simple. It’s the anti-joke of trivia games.

Fourth stage, Realization: Nah, this just isn’t that complex. It’s like a game for kids, or upper management.

How exactly are they going to send you spam when they don’t have your email address?

And I read the terms and conditions. They explicitly even mention they don’t send spam.

Unless you’re talking about the fact that they use cookies to send you targeted ads. In which case:

How is what they are doing any different than the vast majority of websites out there, including this very one on which you posted the above message?

As could one-lane roads lined with pine trees.

Right, but are they African of European pigeons? Exact species identification could help us narrow this down!

You’re good at this.

This was a lot more fun.

Well, I clicked on it and knew it immediately. Got lucky that time.
