Pet pics in the MMP

Jolene reminds GG who’s boss every morning.

Sometimes women will wear their rings on a chain around their neck. Or they will wear their boyfriend’s ring on a chain around their neck. Sometimes they have birthstone pendants that show their children’s birthstones. Sometimes they have little connected hearts. Its just something small that I often notice.

Ya gotta remember I’ve been a felon since I was a teenager. That sort of thing changes how one looks at people and surroundings.

I use flickr. It is a bit of a bother, but George’s adoring fans deserve it!

(Save your pic to your device, open your flickr account, hit the download icon and pick your picture and hit open to select it. Once you have it there, select the pic and copy the link. The link has to be on a line all by itself, otherwise you will just post the actual link and not the pic.)

You will be more efficient and effective if you are well rested.

What a pretty pup! How long has she had that chew thing, it is certainly showing her love.

And now Harry is coming up the drive, I’ll be back later.

Yes, the problem is the device storage. I want a storage program for the PC. You cannot save pictures from Google Photos to Flickr/Imgur, and others.

I didn’t wear my wedding ring when I was pregnant because my hands swelled up enough to make the rather wide band painful. Not that anyone ever hit on me…

Successful (mostly) and not too terribly $$$ trek to Aldi - probably because I didn’t get any meat other than lunchmeat ham and turkey. The only item on my list that they didn’t have was the cereal I like, and their ‘nanners were ugly, so I swung by Food Lion and got both items. With my shop-and-earn credit on my FL account, my tab was $1.09, and rather than put it on the card, I pulled out a couple of singles. There seemed to be a lot of change, but sometimes they skip quarters for nickles and dimes. When I got home, I discovered I had a quarter too much, till I remembered my Aldi quarter, which needs to go back in the car change tray.

Anyway, the freezer was dry when I returned and I was able to remove the bottom basket and wipe the bottom and sides. Everything is back where it belongs, actually organized for a change. And groceries are all stowed. I had my usual turkey-n-swiss-inna-tortilla and I finished off the leftover cabbage. Guess I need to find something else to do. Maybe pull some weeds?

A reasonable Monday, for normal values of Monday. I was on the 300 Slide, then running assorted things around. I also had to put a bulk load on a cart that had been taken off a package car, taken off, put back, and taken off again. I got gas and did my Aldi run. Now it’s naptime.

I’m begging of you please don’t eat my cat…:notes:

What a weird morning we had! The calendar said I had an eye doctor appt. at 11:10. We got there, and they said, “Nope, you have an appt two weeks from now.” We got home, and an HVAC guy rang the doorbell to begin our semi-annual maintenance, which we were not expecting. Halfway through his clatterdebang, the doorbell rings. It’s a neighbor from down the street. I live at 2127, and he’s at 2137. He says the HVAC guy was supposed to be at his house. So, some faster clatterdebang while he puts everything back, and poof, he’s gone.

Good thing I eventually conked back out!

I missed that! (I was so taken in by the fur - I didn’t realize she had faint brindle stripes!)

HA!

This is an excellent word.

Okay, it’s 1 p.m. so time to consider breakfast (most likely polishing off last night’s dinner) and hunt down the info I scribbled during the last adulting call, so I can do an unpleasant followup. Yay.

I managed an hour of weed-pulling before deciding my back needed a break. Plus I’m all sweaty. FCD and I went in search of the grate to go over the pit at the end of the culvert - finally found it under the basement stairs, under the wheelchair and 2 walkers. He’ll cut it to size and I’ll install it. Then I won’t have to worry about me or anyone else falling in.

With luck I’ll get another hour or so of weeding done tomorrow while waiting for the pellets to be delivered. There’s a little stuff that needs to be moved out of the way - like the full recycling bags - but no major pile of crap like last year. Maybe I’ll tend to that after I cool down a bit. I took some preemptive ibuprofen, and I’m wishing we had a hot tub. The bathtub just won’t do it. Alas!

I’m most definitely not pregnant, but my various rings are all fitting more tightly recently. The snuggest is a struggle and more and more days I’m not bothering.

I’m always a little puffier in summer than winter, but this kind of all-over puffiness is well-documented by my bathroom scale. Less eating and drinking, more moving for me. Yeah, right.

If I had Flyboy’s dietary diligence (which I once did) and metalmouse’s gym rat diligence (which I once did) I’d be a friggin’ hero. Instead I have neither and am practicing to be the MMP’s dietary/health goat. I go in tomorrow for my quarterly scolding by my dear long-suffering PCP.

Goodness! How confusing.

You called?

Had the final follow-up this morning to my ER bidness last week. Just a how-you-doin’ type of thing. It made me miss my exercise session, though.

Tomorrow we go apple picking at a local orchard with the niece. Always a fun outing, other than the 30 mile drive.

I have the opposite problem. My wedding ring is way too loose since I lost weight, so I don’t wear it now as I don’t want to lose it.

Enjoying this week’s theme. Sorry, but can’t contribute as I haven’t had pets since the goldfish in elementary school.

Here’s a picture of last night’s lunar eclipse as recompense.

Yesterday we renewed our Global Entry and today we both received confirmation that our renewals have been approved. So we’re set for another 5 years. By that time we have to renew our passports as well.

Gardener sent an email and said he could come tomorrow to take out some grass and add a new planting bed, so I’m working from home tomorrow so I can supervise.

Found a number to call so I can find out if there’s a place for family to wait during surgery. Probably hubby’s just going to drop me off and then come back when I’m in my room. Not sure how productive he’s going to be, though.

Quoted for truth.

And probably I should go to bed. Woke up at 4:30 and didn’t really go back to sleep.
Night!

That is million dollar catitude you’ve gotten yourself there! Plus she is gorgeous (and she knows it).

No new cat pics.

I heard the recycling being picked up this morning. I had to go do something before eight, and the trash bin had not been emptied. I just had to run down to the corner market, and it still hasn’t been emptied. Since we only have trash and recycling picked up every other week, this could be problematic. I called the trash place, and the woman said she’d leave a note for the/a driver to pick it up. Their office is in Bellingham, and I don’t know where the dump is. Even if they dump at the recycling place in Ferndale, it’s a bit of a drive for them.

Erm… I’m going to have a burrito for lunch. (Carb Balance Whole-Wheat tortilla, ground beef with taco seasoning, some green onion, sour cream, medium cheddar, and Tapatio.)

I need to be more dilligent when it comes to exercise. Being put on hourly instead of salary messed with my schedule. I could take more than an hour for lunch and just irk more at the end of the day (which I did – and then some – when I was on salary), but I don’t. I think it’s a psychological thing.

How about the best of two worlds?

Thanks to you TIL that Miley is Dolly’s goddaughter. Doesn’t get better than that.

The office tends to be quiet on Mondays (we only have to come in 3 days a week and most folks are here Tue/Wed/Thu), but today is even quieter than usual…those of us who are here agree that it’s almost creepy. Traffic was also oddly lighter than normal this morning. It’s a good thing there are other people in the office, or I might think I’d become a character in The Langoliers or something.

My ex is now coming over to see Bailey tomorrow evening, vs sometime on Thursday. He messaged me yesterday to ask how she’s doing: I told him about Friday morning’s vet appointment to find out next steps, and he asked about coming by earlier in the week. He also asked to bring his two dogs – a Beagle and a Basset Hound – and I said sure: the weather’s supposed to be nice, so they can hang out in the back yard while he visits with Bailey. Maybe all five of us can wind up outside for a bit. I’m glad for the date change, even though I’ll be kind of tired after work and the commute: now I won’t have to wear a bra at all on Thursday (I’ll be working from home).

Speaking of Bailey, I can’t share pics while I’m at work; y’all will need to wait until Thursday. But there are some CUTE Mumpets (and Mumpgrands) around here! :two_hearts:

At least 70,000 pieces.

My store has them, but I don’t have a toaster. I find the Lunchables grilled cheese to be acceptable, when I have that craving.

I just started rewatching that over the weekend! I watched S1E1 on Saturday night: yesterday I (finally) did a lot of reading during the day, but then I binge-watched most of the rest of the first season. I’d remembered generally liking the show and the leads (Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer), but had forgotten that the excellent Malcom McDowell and Reed Diamond also feature as main characters.

Agreed!

Those eyes are so mesmerizing.

And you won’t share pics of your dear Goldie?!?!

You are forgiven. That’s lovely.

Man, what a combo.

I have achieved approx. 50% of my adulting administrivia, and would like a cookie, plz.

While I was having a smoke psyching myself up, I had not one but two door knockers within 15 minutes. People, this introvert doesn’t need this kind of extra interruption!

One was something about the lead water lines being dug up & replaced, and they’ll need access to inside my home (water shutoff) for about an hour. We came to a consensus about a time/date … and there goes my next Blessed Day Off, since I’ll need to be here, Monkey will need to be safely ensconced somewhere, etc.

It was funny, we picked the day (my day off) and he said, “Morning, or afternoon. Want us to come in the morning?” and with an automatic reflex, I went, quite forcefully, “HELL NO!”

Covered my mouth in (slight) embarrassment, amd said, “Uh, I work 2nd shift. Plz don’t come in the morning?” and he just laughed.

The other door-knocker was a nice lady who … oh, hell, I don’t even remember anymore what she was on about, I’ve been on the phone for awhile since then … but when she got to “Are you the homeowner?” and I replied, “No, I’m the tenant. I rent this house.” she backed the hell off. Politely wished each other a nice day, etc.

Anyway, after almost half an hour on the phone, 1 out of 2 major administrivia has been successfully achieved.

{ sticks out palm } Cookie? Or at least, like, a sticker or lollipop?

I got what I assume were Witnesses the other day. Two nice women wanting to share happiness, they said. I was polite, but didn’t unlatch the swing bar door guard lock I recently installed. It’s there for reasons!

Done with chapter 12 draft, maybe. I may have to do some shuffling in order not to have a disproportionately long chapter.

Lunch was caraway crackers, weird local cheese, deli ham, and the last of the yard blueberries, which are now going soft and attracting many stinging pollinators.

We have another sprung mole trap. Someone should come by today or tomorrow. I think I said I (finally) received the second trap from Da Jungle (third attempt – the first two were ‘delayed’) And I have the ‘kit’ (trap, probe, and hole-maker). The pest control place is paid through Thursday. After that, I can try setting my own traps.

ETA: I heard a *snap* less than an hour ago. I thought it was something making noise in the kitchen. (The coffee urn sometimes makes a noise as it cools.) I wonder if I heard the trap instead?

Now, there’s a band name.

ETA: was it at least tasty?
