Pet pictures!

Oh that is so sweet. My cat isn’t into belly rubs and I don’t try to force him.Atilla is old enough to have life his way. Now my dog Mauser loves belly rubs. I’ve mentioned elsewhere that the first picture I saw of him, on a shelter website, he was on his back with his feet in the air.

He’s a dachshund, isn’t he? All our doxies (except one) slept a lot on their backs with their paws in the air. I used to have a picture of Carla, the dachshund my folks got before us kids came along, lying on the 1950s sofa all four legs in the air with the table lamp light glowing on her.

We sporadically subscribe to Bark Box, a monthly subscription service for dog treats and toys. Some of the stuff is “cutting edge” new & cool, some stuff is just fun.

Loki and Kizzy get a kick out of the treats, but are meh on the toys. Simi LOVES the toys and plays with them frequently.

The theme this month was “pirate”.

He’s hilarious, running around the house with his sword.

“He’s got a sword!!!”

“You idiot, we’ve all got swords!”

Testing link. It did not work

“Join me for a drink?”

After three years of looking at your awesome photos of your adorable companions, I finally figured out how to do it.

Watchoo talkin’ 'bout, Willis?"

ARRRRRRRR(f)! It be Bark Like A Pirate Day!

Barrrrrrhk like a pirate!

He’s gone now, went over the bridge at age 30, but here’s my late very large expensive pet Ben:

Hi, Ben! you were a beauty, weren’t you?

And I bet he was worth every penny.

Beautiful horse!

Worth lots and lots and LOTS of pennies! And yes, he was.

Here’s another of my large expensive pets – the late Commander, a Morgan, during stall rest for the founder that eventually took him:

Damn. Our Gracie had just a touch of laminitis, caught very early. With a grazing muzzle, corrective shoeing, and rest her feet are fine again.

You’re fortunate you caught it in time. When I acquired Commander he’d already had and recovered from one bout of founder and since his owner wanted to jump he sold him to me for a dollar, knowing he’d have a good home. I got about a year of light trail riding with him before it flared up again, and there followed several months of steady decline despite everything we could do.

Sunday was a pontoon day, possibly the last of the season. Beautiful day, saw osprey hunting the Allegheny River. The dogs were in heaven

My view was frequently dog butts.

By the end of the three hour cruise Simi was so tired he fell asleep sitting up.

What a wonderful day for you all.

Or he may have been just thoroughly blissed out~I would have been!

I may have posted this before. My gf on Mac, a great horse, ten years ago. Mac was 32 and lived a few more years after this picture was taken. They rode from our place to a nearby Halloween party and won a prize.

Wicked cool costume! Wicked cool photo! What a fine horse! Do you happen to know the breed?

The photo is amazing.
