Pet pictures!

Awwwww and squeeeeee!!! Lucy-Lu-Lu is adorable!!! Those ears!!!

Thanks so much for sharing her darlingness, @Maus_Magill!

Man, they can get into our hearts, can’t they?

Here’s another Ollie pic for the dachshund lovers (also so I don’t get dinged for hijacking with Valerie):

Ooooh, spots!!

Ohs my goodness, Lucy-Lu-Lu is cute cute cute. I’ve never seen a spotted dachshund and thought for a moment she was wearing pajamas.

I wish I knew how to post pictures, my dachshund Mauser would fit in.

I upload to flickr and post the URL of the photo in question.

My SIL adopts older, often abused dachshunds. She tends to cycle through them, but she makes sure they are loved and happy for the brief time they’re together.

Bless her. I contribute to the shelter I got my dog from, because I couldn;t be a foster, I’d want to keep them all.

If you don’t want to bother setting up an account at a photo-hosting site and you’re on Bluesky (or Xitter, even) you can upload images directly to posts, then after posting click on the image to open the image in the post, then right-click “open in new tab”, then copy that URL and paste it in your post here.

I had done that with Facebook but the image disappeared.

Anyway, here’s my late thumb-boy Schooner, in his adolescent days, hanging out among the plants on the window seat in my home office.

And here we see an illustration of how aloof, antisocial, and solitary cats are.

Peanut and Squash.

Oh, yes, don’t get me going on that one!

What fun names for two beautiful gingers.

Thanks. Squash had a brother, Pumpkin. I adopted both boys as kittens when my vet’s office dangled them in front of me: “They need a home…” Peanut was a later adoption from our local shelter. Here they are together (did I post this picture before? Oh, well.):

Cuddle puddle!

I love when two cats make the yin-yang symbol by curling around each other.

Not my pet!

My coworker and his roommates are, ah, between homes, so I am (temporarily!!!) hosting a dragon in my living room.

We all know how “temporary” situations go, but …

Anyway, meet the not-so-creatively named Lil’ Buddy, who, like all beardies, is very calm and good-natured, and quite dapper in his reptile-y way.

You may as well start calling him Drago or whatever you think is appropriate, given the odds of ever handing him over to the person who left him.

When you mentioned Lil’ Buddy back on March 1st, yeah, we all knew it was very likely to be a much longer term thing. Seriously beardies are (almost always, I have had exceptions) easy to care for, easy going, and pleasant lizard companions. I used to let one of ours pancake on top of my chest while watching TV. Netflix, critters and chill!

Willis and Newman are so attached, it’s their default position.

I have had my dog Mauser for eight years now. He was five when his original owner left him with a friend while he moved, and never came back for him. The guy housing him finally brought him to the shelter and I saw his picture online, on his back for a belly rub. The shelter was over seventy miles away but I so wanted a dachshund again, after I lost Nathan.

So I was at my local herp (reptile/snake) store to pick up fresh rodents (killed as humanely as reasonably possible) for the snakes, and saw the following image. It was all I could do NOT to come home with a beardie or three.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we have to take advantage of these rare days of sunshine.
