I upload to flickr and post the URL of the photo in question.
My SIL adopts older, often abused dachshunds. She tends to cycle through them, but she makes sure they are loved and happy for the brief time they’re together.
If you don’t want to bother setting up an account at a photo-hosting site and you’re on Bluesky (or Xitter, even) you can upload images directly to posts, then after posting click on the image to open the image in the post, then right-click “open in new tab”, then copy that URL and paste it in your post here.
I had done that with Facebook but the image disappeared.
Anyway, here’s my late thumb-boy Schooner, in his adolescent days, hanging out among the plants on the window seat in my home office.
Thanks. Squash had a brother, Pumpkin. I adopted both boys as kittens when my vet’s office dangled them in front of me: “They need a home…” Peanut was a later adoption from our local shelter. Here they are together (did I post this picture before? Oh, well.):
When you mentioned Lil’ Buddy back on March 1st, yeah, we all knew it was very likely to be a much longer term thing. Seriously beardies are (almost always, I have had exceptions) easy to care for, easy going, and pleasant lizard companions. I used to let one of ours pancake on top of my chest while watching TV. Netflix, critters and chill!
I have had my dog Mauser for eight years now. He was five when his original owner left him with a friend while he moved, and never came back for him. The guy housing him finally brought him to the shelter and I saw his picture online, on his back for a belly rub. The shelter was over seventy miles away but I so wanted a dachshund again, after I lost Nathan.
So I was at my local herp (reptile/snake) store to pick up fresh rodents (killed as humanely as reasonably possible) for the snakes, and saw the following image. It was all I could do NOT to come home with a beardie or three.
