As inviting as it looks, belly scritches aren’t really recommended. At least if you like to keep your blood inside of you.

He looks very contemplative.

My black cat Irving does this. It seems like an invitation, but…

I’ve been snarking on my cats today, but for some reason, Cat Secundus (who is normally a mommy’s kitty) has decided that I am worthy of sitting upon!

Sorry if a video is not appropriate in this thread, but a photo doesn’t really convey it. Four goofball rats all deciding they need a drink at the same time.

That’s a sweet sound!

I like lil white-blaze dude asking to speak to the manager. Meanwhile, GrayLeft and WhiteRight are just determinedly getting on with their sippy business.

Reminds me of newborn kittens fighting over who gets latched on the best nipple.

From the look on Sucundus face, I would say you were currently ‘acceptable’ to sit on, but you need to up your game significantly to rise to ‘worthy’ and avoid murder mitten motivation .

Oh, indeed, he finds me a barely acceptable substitution for his mother. He doesn’t actively wish me dead (I think) but every day I’m there and his mother is stuck late at work he’s thinking “Why are YOU here and not MOMMY?”.

He’s good at making do.

He does look rather like he’s thinking “I must have a lap to sit on and this seems to be the only one available.”

Hey, let’s not let this thread die! I can’t remeber whether I’ve shared this one way back a ways, but it popped up as a Facebook memory today, so here goes – my late Thoroughbred, Ben, scratching the itch of a pesky fly bite.

Lazing on a Sunday afternoon.

So cute!

Blast from the past: Peanut, with the giant belly, snuggled into Squash. Yes, belly rubs welcome, and no, it’s not a trap.

Very cute, but in my capacity as a canine advocate, I have this to say. You know how there’s a broad category of dog breeds called “working dogs”, because historically they do useful work? As a Bernese Mountain Dog, I am proud to be of that heritage. We are herders. We are pullers of carts. We are rescuers of stranded mountaineers.

But has anyone ever heard of a “working cat”? Behold the evidence!
