And P.K. has a sweet eye, too. (As one of my kids recites every time anyone meets or sees him: “P.K. stands for Pirate Kitty he has one eye.”) We looked for the right dog and the right cat to rescue for a long time after losing their predecessors, and we were rewarded for our patience.

I rate all the pets as 10/10 on the lovable scale and will happily dish out scritches, pets, snuggles, and whatever form of affection horses like.
This picture is a few years old, but it is my favorite picture of Nelson. He has gained a bit of weight since then, but he still likes to boop my finger if I present it to him. Or my nose.
