I love black cats. They look like little panthers. Great pic, btw. When we had a black cat, I took a lot of pics of a black blob with yellow eyes.
George is almost 5 months old and is 6lbs. He is fascinated by the litter robot and keeps jumping in and stopping it in mid-cycle. The missing litter always baffles him.
He’s a fierce hunter (notice the fluffed tail and spine hair):
He’s smart enough to know when VBC is not in a playing mood. Mostly. Sometimes she has to be a little loud and physical.
Sometimes a kitten just needs a little rest between terrorist sessions.
George is going to grow up into a magnificent cat. I can’t get clear pics, but the fur that looks gray is actually a mix of white and black hairs. He’s also developing two thin white stripes down his back, probably because he’s such a stinker.
@kayaker we had a fluffy footed chicken visit our back yard for a couple of hours while I was looking for her owner. Hubs sprinkled bird seed outside our french doors for the cat’s entertainment. How well do birds see through glass? The chicken didn’t seem stressed about the cats drooling an inch away.
Despite not being a cat kind of guy, I must say that George’s white gloves, white spats, and tuxedo continue to impress as the epitome of stylish dress! George needs an aristocratic title, such as George, Duke of [name of your street].
Thanks for the kind words everyone, but you do need to be careful about encouraging me!
@elfkin477 I could only see the 5 month old Poe, but admired the pic you shared of him at a year. What a fabulous kitty!
George is definitely still very much a kitten. I always laugh when he does the sideways Halloween cat pose and will miss it when he grows out of it. He gets fussy when he’s ready for his afternoon nap and wants to be picked up and held like a baby while he aimlessly waves his front paws in the air.
I hope he grows up to look as dignified as your Poe, but going by what I see…he’s going to be a big doofus who will go around with broken whiskers and one ear flipped backwards because he tried to stick his head somewhere it didn’t fit.
Oh! Eventually they out-grow the broken whiskers. Poe’s were broken constantly until he was 7 or 8 months old. And as a throw back to a question you asked a while ago, I’ve since read they might be 2 before they have their grown up coats.
And now hubs has reminded me that I don’t know how to count. George was born on 4/9. Today is 8/10. George is only 4 months old, 1 day old and six and a half pounds. No wonder he still looks like a kitten!!!
His baby fuzz is starting to shine, but I thought that was because I like to brush him while I’m putting him down for his afternoon nap.
I used to be all good with numbers and stuff, but then I retired and the world ended.
So, here is George looking all innocent and stuff.
Sorry for the blurry pic, when George and VBC are rolling around on the floor, they move fast.
George is longer from nose to tail than VBC already. For anyone who is worried, George survived getting his throat ripped out once again, but VBC sure does look like she’s fierce and stuff.
George is starting to look like a little cat, kinda, if you squint your eyes just right. I love his bushy tail!
I was going to brag about his whiskers, but now I can see that he broke more off, so I’m going to brag about his ears. I love to wrap his ear hairs around my finger
