Pet pictures!

I bet that production is fun to watch.

I’ll give permission for this use of any of my pictures that are posted here by me or @Seanette.

Especially when one of them decides Delenn needs to be groomed. The really amusing thing is that Vash, who was somewhat hostile to the interloper at first, has taken to following her around like a puppy, apparently out of curiosity about what she’ll do next.

I’m harboring a fugitive at work today. This stray showed up at our office building, where we’re already keeping one outdoor cat fat and happy. He or she is in such bad shape, I’m surprised they’re alive, but they’re very friendly. This cat weighs like two pounds, with half of that being bones and fur mats.

Someone is supposed to take it home with them today (and also to the vet, for chip scan, etc.) But in the meantime, some of our cat folks decided the kitty needed some air conditioning, so they brought it in and “hid” it in an office three doors down from our cat-hating director.
I catnapped it from there and am hiding it in my husband’s office without his knowledge or consent (whoops, that was supposed to go in the secret thread).

Oh good, rescued cat. Who looks badly in need of rescue; and, in that last photo, rather worried but cautiously hopeful that rescue has arrived.

Cat has been offered food and water, yes? Maybe not a lot of food at once, to start with, but a bit at a time.

Yes, it’s actually been around for about a week and everyone’s been feeding it. He or she is helping themselves to the other cat’s water as well.
Original stray is not best pleased by this interloper horning in on his minions!

Original stray will be pleased when interloper disappears with the adopter; but glad that Resident hasn’t driven off Starving Cat, who doesn’t look able to stand up to any significant attack.

If the cat still looks that bad after a week of being fed, yes I really recommend the vet. (which is a good idea when first adopting in any case); though in cases of long-term chronic starvation it can indeed take some time for them to start looking better. – I also wonder whether that’s an old cat. While precise aging isn’t possible after about eight months, the vet. should be able to get some idea.

– the color pattern reminds me a good deal of the first cat I had after leaving my parents’ house. She’s been gone since 1987 and I still miss her. I think she was longer-haired, but in the state of this cat’s coat it’s hard to tell.

That’s wonderful. Looks like a great rescue opportunity.

Coworkers of mine found a mom and her kittens at our nuclear generating station. All got adopted, and none had three eyes! They had a nice spread in the company newsletter, too.

That is one miserable face. I’m looking forward to seeing updates down the line, with clean fur and happy eyes.

Beautiful markings, too.

I think they’ll need to shave this kitty to get rid of the clumps, poor baby.

If you can trap it and get it to the vet I’d gladly contribute to it’s care. I love cats as well as dogs. And I really mean what I said about helping pay.

Thanks, that’s very generous! But not necessary. This kitty has a lot of new friends looking out for them now. :smiley_cat:

I am so glad, Keep us posted.

For 10 years, my old workplace was in a very large wooded area. I can’t tell you how many cats and dogs and kittens and puppies we hid after they were dumped out there. And they all found homes. That’s how I got my cat Summer. Thank you so much for helping this poor baby. Today was their lucky day.

Yes – will you get reports from the person who’s taking the cat home? Please pass them on to us!

(Cat-Who-Looks-Like-Jeni: May you be well, and be well patted!)

Will do! I’m anxious because I’m not at work today, but Monday it’ll be the first order of business.

A reason to look forward to Mondays!

Adorable!
