I’m not sure I have the jokes for that to put it in MPSIMS, that’s why I’m putting it in the pit. PETA is doing this to open a “Meat is Murder Museum”. That is so far beyond absurd I don’t have the words.
I never respected PETA, and I can usually think of some very good invective regarding them, but this has not only reached my WTF? threshold, it has surpassed it. I’m fucking speechless.
They are lunatics who have probably done so many bad things to animals at some point that this is their way of making amends – now the animals are more important than anything. I think they should go save some lions or alligators or something by providing them dinner – themselves. At least they’d stop annoying us with their insanity.
I’m a little surprised that home’s even available. Surely it was an attractive place, it’s in trendy Brentwood, we know there’s a guest quarters and I’m sure there’s at least a few people that would relish owning a place so internationally famous despite its noteriety. Yet, there it sits for $478K, which really doesn’t sound like much at all.
PETA’s got plenty of crazy assed celebs worth millions that provide them with support. Quit panhandling and just buy the damn place already.
It’s not much at all for a place in trendy Brentwood, because the house is about 3,000 miles away from trendy Brentwood. As this article points out, it’s in Florida, south of Miami.
And yet again, PETA succeeds in their mission #1: be the most-talked-about nonprofit around. WTG, PETA!
Seriously, I’ve tried searches on other nonprofits: Amnesty International, UNICEF, HSUS, etc. None of them get nearly as many pixels on this board as PETA does. I’m convinced that’s what they’re trying to do, and I’m convinced that they’re great at it. As long as we keep obliging them, they’ll keep on keepin on.
I work in a field that PETA and certain other groups…take issue with. Or at least parts of the industry. Anyhoo, having dealt with these groups I can say that while I disagree with their goals I find HSUS to be a focused, goal-oriented, organization that gets things done. PETA, on the other hand, wasn’t even at the table. Not enough publicity or cash donations I guess.
Exactly right. They want folks to talk about them and even to say how much they hate them, because then their supporters, and yes they have many, many supporters, start to fill the coffers.
