Harrington just self destructed with a 9 on the par 3 8th. That drops him essentially out of contention at -1.
At this point, it’s really just between Tiger and Yang, who is one behind Tiger but hanging tough.
Tiger just dropped another shot at the 8th to put him into a tie with Yang at -6. Still hard to see Tiger losing this, though.
No it is not. Tiger has been playing untigerlike since the middle of the back nine yesterday. He is playing defensively. That is not how you win. Maybe he hurt his knee.
This hole will be 14 in a row without a birdie in a major championship. He is 2 over the first 9. He is way off and needs a couple long putts to fall in or he will lose. He can not hit it close.

Yes, as we pointed out, that particular piece of stupidity is common among announcers, some of whom should know better. Ask Harrington right now how “match play” like things are (Hint: getting a 9 on a par-3 isn’t an issue at match play).
Tiger will win this walking away (and I don’t care that he just hit it into a tree). Yang is not in his class, and no one else is in contention.
Everybody knows that. However if these two play fairly well, that will not come into play. There will be no big scores to throw out.
PS I can not see Tiger winning it.
Pros make more bogies due to bad tee shots than any other club. Tiger has no cotrol off the tees. You would think he would be somewhat self correcting by now.

Tiger ends up with birdie, Yang with par. Tiger has the lead to himself again at -7.
Also, a correction is in order. I said Harrington made a 9 on that par 3. He made a snowman.
