Philly Dopefest in December! Let's do it!

Has a place been decided on?

I’ve been aced out of two DopeFests in a row now, but I’m pretty sure I can swing this one. Anyone need a ride from points south?

Where are you coming from? If it’s not too far out of the way I can be conned into a side trip to drag you along.

NFL plays on Sat when college football season is over. it gives them more airtime for expensive commercials

I just thought I’d post, just for the hell of it, that I’m travelling all the way from Australia to near Philly in late December - I’m getting there Christmas Day :wally

So close, yet so far. Not that anyone knows who I am to actually be disappointed, but it would have been fun.

Anyone in the path from Toms River out to Philly need a lift for this?

May I suggest Tattoo Mom’s on South Street? Freaky little bar, always a good time. I don’t know if you guys were thinking bar or restaurant/bar. South Street isn’t a bad call, most out of towners could figure out how to get there. Plus…Yolanda’s is right down the street…goth chicks mmmmmmmmmmmm. Just my 2 cents.

OOh!! OOhh!! I know people who work in Tattoo Moms and Firehouse Jacks!!

If you’re ever in Firehouse Jacks, ask for Katie the greatest Barmaid on earth, tell them that John Paul The Irish Dr. Seuss Fan sent ya!!

BTW, Philly Dopers, have you ever heard a band called Patricks Head play?

Hmmmm…Tattooed Moms could work. There is also insane places like McGlinchys & Dirty Franks very cheap bars. Or slightly more upscale is new Wave in Queen Village (Good beer, food, pool tables) Monks a little expensive but they have lots of room, Sugar Moms is also nice but the beer is crazy expensive. Or we could go over to the Standard Tap in Northern Liberties (Really good food & beer) and hit the bars around there.

Or we could just go to an AA meeting:)

Jesus, for those of us who don’t drink, this is turning into quite the BoozeFest.

Might I suggest Moriarty’s next to the Forrest theatre on Walnut?

Esprix

Yeah, and not only do some of us not drink, some of us aren’t allowed to;) So what do WE get to do, huh?

Punny honey, you know I’ve never had trouble having fun at a Dopefest despite my lack of drinking, so it’s very doable…

But this does raise an important point: we should have this at a place where underage peoples are allowed. Don’t want anyone excluded, plus that way it’s not ALL about the drinking.

An’ a BUMP…

Hey, nobody has volunteered to assist with my 'toon-nappping project. Wassup wit dat? We want 'toons, people! Very much! Believe me on this.

In light of recent events in my life, I won’t be attending this event. I’m sorry, folks. Festive is not the mood I’m going to be in for a while.

jayjay

OK, Geo, I know where you’re coming from, but where do we have to go to capture the wiley and elusive 'toons?

jayjay: Understandable. But if you do decide you need to get out for a bit–and you might–you’ll be more than welcome.

Good question. I will attempt to obtain coordinates. We must have 'toons!

Howzabout we all go to Dave and Buster’s? They have food, billiards, video games, -and- alcohol. Plus, you don’t have to be 21 to get in!

They have cheap parking too.

D&B’s is a good idea. As long as there is alchohol, I’m there!!

D&B sounds like a decent idea. However, Delaware Avenue on a Saturday night? Will we even be able to get close to the place?

If the others don’t like Dave and Buster’s how about Jillian’s at Franklin Mills? I think they offer food and brews along the same lines as D&B. Never been but I’ve heard it’s OK.

Zap!

Jillian’s sounds good, their video games sucked when I visited, but they have bowling, which is much more of a social game anyway. Parking should be a breeze. I’m up for it. Howzabout 7PM?

Jillians works. 7pm works. D&B’s works, too, if anyone’s crazy enough to try Del. Ave on a Saturday.
