I’d be down… never been there, but I have a free plane ticket to burn!
…unless it’s a locals-only thing.

no, not just a local thing. do drop by, philly is worth seeing and twickster is a great tour guide.
You should absolutely come – we’d even scrape up a prize for you for “longest distance traveled.”
Reply, getyerass over here. You know I’m not a local but I’m coming. I wish I had some place to put you up, but the federal government is providing my housing, and they tend to be suspicious of housing requests for ‘some strange guy I met on the internet’.

Come one, come all…
I live about 30 minutes away from Philly. Depending on my car situation, I should be able to go.
That would be great! And this will be very public-transportation friendly – most of us will be getting there via SEPTA (we’ll be 5-10 blocks from Market East and close to the Market St. subway) or PATCO.
Probably just myself. As it turns out, this is the only weekend in about a two-month span where we don’t have plans. As such, my wife is looking forward to spending a Sunday afternoon doing not a damn thing. And if my wife isn’t going, then I’ll probably leave The Littlest Briston home as well – she tends to monopolize the conversation.
Hah, not a problem! I’ll sleep in the airport or somesuch; better than being officially considered “strange” by the feds I’ve enough problems!
I just got accepted into the CCC and they start on April 20th… but I may be able to get back early enough in the day to still make it. But my plane ticket mileage isn’t good enough for a direct roundtrip, so I have to see if I can’t route it via another carrier somehow… blah blah, short version is I’ll have to let you all know in a couple days. But I’d LOVE to see everyone and check out Philly!
Put me down as a possible. After totally screwing up the last time I was in Philadelphia, I’d like to take another shot at meeting people.
Oh, right – the Eastern State Penitentiary outing, where no one had a cell phone number for you. I’d forgotten about that.
That would be excellent – hope you can make it!

And possibly Reply – I can’t tell if s/he’s kidding or not.
LOL! PATCO was busted (actually, a fire somewhere near Broadway) and I was stranded in Philly a couple years ago. I walked across the BFBridge and straight through Camden, all the way to the Ferry Ave train station.
Definitely not the smartest decision.
I’m a long-time lurker and only recent poster. Still, I can’t make it. My wife is due to give birth on or about 4/18
Where are your priorities, man!
He, and I’m definitely not kidding! I’m trying to figure out if this can work. It’s complicated because the very next day I’m due back in Cali for a 5-month backpacking trip, prior to which I’ll have to store my car, meaning I’ll have no transportation from the airport…
Anyway, I’ll let y’all know ASAP =)
So you’ll be busy for awhile. We’ll pencil you in for the 2027 meeting.
I might be able to make it, if I can get the in-laws to take the sprog. In fact, it’s going on the official calendar.
So it’s looking like the following are planning to attend:

Which PATCO stop do I take, 8th and Market?
Yeah, I guess that’s the first stop in Philly, isn’t it?
We’ll probably be meeting a few blocks from there – there are a couple of places on 2nd Street for lunch possibilities.
We’re officially in. Sr. Olives reserves the right to back out if he has a paper due or something. But I’m there, accompanied by the usual bells.
