Aesiron is basically doing what I did a few years ago and doing a HUGE road trip.
He is going to be in Philly and would like to be the, ah, subject of a Philly Doper dinner sometime in early April. He doesn’t have exact dates yet, though.

Er. No. I don’t want to the subject or guest of honor or anything like that but a chance to meet some of you would be cool as my road trip’s more about visiting friends than it is about seeing the country.
This is my route for anyone curious and if you read the entry itself, you’ll see why the date is up in the air at the moment. I have lots of stops between now and then and I’m not sure how long each will take, nor do I know how long the actual travel will take. I’ve never really done this before. My guess is that it’ll be sometime around the 15th but I can’t give anything more concrete than that right now so I’ll understand if **twickster **or anyone else needing more time opts out.
And, Anaamika, you should really read your friends list more often. I’ll be heading to Montreal afterwards and Albany is along the way.

To answer your question, I was bored when I was making the map and assigned all the major destinations I’d be visiting with symbols relating either to it or the people I’d be meeting there. The om represents you, the crescent moon represents the friend in Montreal studying Middle Eastern Studies at McGill, the cross represents the South as a whole, the police cruiser represents Detroit, and so on and so forth.
My most favorite symbol is the ambulance for me, though. Heh.
