danceswithcats, I was looking forward to meeting you, but I understand if you can’t make it. Where are you coming from that costs $40 to get there and back? Is there anyone you could carpool with?
My only vehicle is a 10mpg van, and it’s ~100 miles to Phila from my part of central PA. If the Doorses are in, that’s an option. Sorry to be noncommittal. 
Sitar India sounds good to me – we were just waiting for someone who could make an informed recommendation to pick a place.

Verrain and I were talking about it and you might want to call ahead of time to let them know there’s a larger than normal group showing up. They normally have tables that seat four, but they can put them together for larger groups if they need to.
Good idea – should we include you guys for that count?
Plan on it. I don’t think my guests are going to be here until much later (like 8 or 9) so it shouldn’t be a problem. I’ll double check with them, though, and see what their plans are.

So we’ve got nine people so far – and four “maybes” – and anyone else we can lure in. I’ll rebump towards the end of next week to get a more definite count, then call the restaurant next Thursday. (Or Friday? How much warning do you think they’ll need, TP?)
The day ahead would probably be best, I’d think. We should be able to bump our numbers the day of if some last minute people decide to come, but this way, they’ll at least be well prepared and they won’t feel like it’s last minute. (They’re open for lunch, but then they close for awhile and reopen for dinner at 4:30.)
Thanks twickster for emailing me. I shed a tear and wish you all kinds of goodies for a great Dope. You’ll have to go some to beat the last one though. Enjoy, and be sure to talk it up real big and make me even more jealous.
Since I’m already planning to go to Verrain’s celebration dinner the following week, and I can’t justify two trips to Philly in two weeks, I’m out of this one.

I thought she might post here herself, but since she hasn’t, I’ll add moi, who took me up on my offer to provide a lift. She and blue kangaroo have assured me that they have already thought of ways to entertain one another while I’m occupied with the bussiness of my trip. They were coy about what, precisely, they had in planned, however.
The mind reels. Mine does, anyway.

i’ve been waiting to see how work would shake out this week.
it is not shaking out well for rocking chair. i’ll do a dance of tired joy if i’m able to get to see the red glow from exit sign of the office by 6pm. i’m foreseeing a 2 pint stop at the wawa (any sane store will be closed) on the crawl home.
“Yay” indeed, on moi. And “bummer” on rocking chair – I hope you can make it some other time. Of course, if you have some ridiculous burst of energy at the end of the day, feel free to head out to University City, even if you can’t make it by six.
Since Alan Smithee has already called me out as a slackadoper, I would normally just hideaway from this thread and settle for seeing y’all on Friday…but, well, TP and twickster’s happy dance just made my night. 
Alan, you should note that this means your thread has already made two women happy and, well, with all the amusement kangaroo and I shall have torturing you, I think you can bump the grand total up to four!
I’m thrilled, but since twickster suggested the dinner, started the thread, and is doing all the planning and organizing, I think she gets the credit for making everybody happy, including me!
Okay – just called and made a reservation for “10 or 12” (damn, it’s hard keeping track of y’all) at 6:00 under the name “Cecil.”
