Phoenix, 119 days without rain and counting.

I think 119 days. I could be wrong, but it’s somewhere around there. I googled it and it seemed there were differing numbers everywhere. Some said 114, one site said 124. But the guy on the radio said 119, so that’s what I’m going with. If anyone knows the exact number, feel free to post it.
But anyway, the main point is, the previous record was 101 days without rain, which, as you can see, we passed a bit ago. So day by day, this new record is growing steadily longer. Seems really weird to have such a large city have 0 rainfall at all for 120ish days, but it’s happening.

What about where you live? Do you know what the longest run of no rain is for your town or city?
AND WHERE IS THE RAIN?!?! SOMEONE SEND SOME.

Rain doesn’t care if you’re in a big city or not. You’re in the desert, I assume… Streaks like that are going to be common in that area. Even if that wasn’t the case for years in a row. :stuck_out_tongue:

All right, all right, I will wash my car tomorrow!

It sprinkled for about 3 minutes here one day last week. Nyah nyah.

I’m coming out there soon. I’ll bring some wit…umm, never mind. We (Oklahoma) can’t spare any either, what with the fires and all. Sorry.

I apparently need to come out there and go camping. That outta fix 'er.
(We had 12-15 inches of rain here Friday before last… in about 8 hours).

The storm talked about when it was wrote on the 28th…here:

Did nothing. It didn’t even give us a trace of rain (which is the record we beat on Jan 27th after hitting day 101–being that 100 days was the record before; We are now on day 134 or 135).

We are now fastly approaching another record. On March 27th, if we keep going without rain for that long, it will be the a new record of the longest Phoenix has gone without a measurable amount of rain, which the previous record is (can’t remember the exact number) 160something days.

I suppose I could just add up the number of days remaining to March 27th to the current day without rain, but I’m feeling particularly lazy right now. Don’t want to have to think at all. : p

It rained here off and on all day yesterday, but just sprinkling so it didn’t really help. For those who think it never rains in the desert, it actually rains quite a bit in the late summer and winter. The winter’s basically like- it gets warm for a few days, it rains for a couple days, then it’s cold(ish) for a while, then the cycle repeats. It’s not dramatic monsoonal storms, but rather good, steady soaking rains- in December and January. No rain at all this winter! We all have dry skin and the dust is flying. The fires this summer will be horrendous but that’s to be expected anymore. On the plus side, there won’t be much blooming this spring, so maybe less allergies.

We’re having a lot of rain here in the Bay Area. Wish I could send you some.

We haven’t had rain since the beginning of October…
We’ve had about 300" of snow though

Finally.

On the 143rd day…it rains.

And based on the radar imagery through the day, it seems you are trying to make it all up today.

And SNOWED! Up here in the Carefree/Cave Creek area it snowed most of Sat and that night. The mountains north of us are still covered. Nothing like cactus with a covering of snow.
