Not really pitting Phred, because I’m not sure there’s anything new that can be said about the bigoted asshole. However, he’s at it again with a soldier’s funeral here in Indiana tomorrow.
Veterans are planning a counter-protest & police said they won’t tolerate any violations of the law.
I’m always torn on these things. On the one hand, I’d be happy to be part of an anti-Phred protest or just part of a group keeping them away from the funeral. You know, form a line and refuse to let them pass unless they’re willing to force their way through, and then have them arrested for assault.
On the other hand, I hate to give that douche-bag any more attention than he already gets. I’d prefer to just ignore him, but that doesn’t seem to make him give up, does it?
This is what he does. He tries to rile up the local law enforcement, maybe get someone angry enough to throw a punch, then he sues. It’s how he makes a living.

I understand he plans to demonstrate at the miner’s funerals, too. You can look here (not work-safe) - just hold onto your lunch

When Phelps was protesting military funerals, I at least felt like I had a thumbnail grip about just what he was on about (the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, I’m pretty sure). But what’s gotten into his head now?

I half think that Phelps is some sort of undercover performance artist creating a paradoy of the anti-homosexual position. Stuff like this is so over the top evil that it probably makes even violent homophobes question if their on the right side.
But the more likely theory is, yea, he’s probably just trying to goad people into hitting him so that he can get the lawsuit money.
I might judge a little.
