Picasa 3 beta out

For those who don’t need or want the power of Photoshop, and who prefer not to pay for photo organizing software, Google has recently issued a Beta release of Version 3 of the Picasa program.

It has some really nice features, outlined at LifeHacker. They include the option of a new default image viewer in Windows, automatic synchronization with PicasaWeb (or with Flickr), and an easy-to-use text tool for captions or things like copyright watermarks.

The web-based Picasa (picasaweb.com) also has some nifty facial recognition now.
