Pick a television comedy to vacation in.

I’m confused as to why you think all the buggy’s aren’t bobby-trapped.

But, again, you’re free to try to defeat the booby-trap. If you’re successful you’ll obviously be offered a job, and if not – well, do you really need both kidneys?

So, a sitcom or at least a comedy. Something where the characters don’t get too annoying in large doses. Something where the bystanders aren’t often killed. A nice place to spend a vacation.
Mayberry sounds about right. The weather is usually nice, and I could walk in the woods or go fishing. There seem to be a decent supply of single women interested in middle-aged men (I seem to recall Floyd was a serial dater).
I could like Cicely, Alaska, but only in the summer. I really don’t do cold.

Which brings me to my favorite attempt to cash in on the success of Northern Exposure, Key West.
Take my vacation in a place where people actually go to vacation, and hang around with in a bar run by a cajun called Gumbo when I’m not petting Hemmingway’s cats. And the sexy waitresses seem to really go for the reserved, polite type.

A job? To whom do you think you speak? Partnership, perhaps. Remember, the Lion owes me several, and Ol’Redbeard is a drinking buddy of mine, when I’m not freelancing for his Dad.

I keep telling you that Old One Eye cannot be trusted, but I suppose you’ll have to learn the hard way.

Probably. That’s pretty much what I do. Those windmills ain’t gonna tilt at themselves, ya know.

Really? I’ve never seen an episode of Gilmore Girls; is this a commonly held opinion about it v. Northern Exposure?

Why on Earth would I care about whether it’s a commonly-held opinion?

** think Gilmore Girls was better than Northern Exposure, even with the horrid last season for the former show. I loved GG from day one, and not simply because Lauren Graham was made of hot; NE never held my attention, even though both Janine Turner and the young blond woman married to the older gentlemen were both hotter than LG.

Twas asking other’s opinions, that if it was more than just a Skalkenfluke thing I might send ambassadors and make a feast to them in the wilderness, which is to say add them to my Netflix queue.

ETA-BTW: Janine Turner totally grew out of it, and not just because she’s a TeaParty zany now. She’s got some misguided Carol Brady as Marilyn Monroe off her meds look happening; Alec Baldwin must be glad he dodged that bullet at least.

Add them to your queue. It’s hilarious.

I Dream of Jeannie.

C’mon guys. Barbara Eden… and she’s a genie.

Barbara Eden.

Genie.

Barabbba esdn

what’s with the orange make up?

Oompa-Loompa fetish?

I’ve got to go with 30 Rock, even though I love the Parks and Rec group.

A week learning about handshakefulness, play-hard, and the best afternoon scotch from Jack Donaghy, and then a week decompressing with the writers.

I’m going to spend my vacation scheming with Lucy and Ethel.

classic! I never get tired of them in the original “I Love Lucy”

At that, nobody mentioned Daisy Duke in her Daisy Dukes.

Good choice! I’ll go with another Greg Garcia show, Raising Hope. Hang out with the Chances, joke around with Burt and try to forget he reminds me of about 27 serial killers I’ve seen on TV. Talk to Jimmy, get him to rope Sabrina into putting a good word in with me with her cousin Shelly so we can double-date. Then I’ll find out Shelly is too quirky to have a relationship with anyone, and I’ll end up helping Frank build his miniature town.

Now why did you have to go and make me cry?

Monty Python’s Flying Circus crossed my mind, but I suspect that it wouldn’t be as funny in real life. A cheese-free cheese shop would probably be more annoying than amusing. John Cleese yellng in your face about parrots “pining for the fiords” might just be frightening.

That leaves me torn between Gilligan’s Island, Green Acres, and The Addams Family.

Hanging out for a week with Sledge Hammer would certainly be…interesting. I’d just have to make absolutely sure I don’t miss the universe and end up as the “very special guest star” on a Police Squad! episode.
