Pick a television comedy to vacation in.

Either Frasier, Seinfeld or Friends. I loved each of those shows, even though they’re very different, and I think I’d get along pretty well with most if not all of their casts if I had the chance.

Comedy is about pain–for somebody else. It’s critical to pick your role in the comedy of your choice. You want to be around to observe the funniness, but not in a role where you will be humiliated, hurt or brought to the attention of the gods of humor. The Gods of Humor will ‘grind exceeding small’ just like the wheels of every other God.

Therefore, to be in the comedy world, best role is an ‘unseen character’.

Vera in Cheers, or Maris in Frasier, or Mother Wolowitz in The Big Bang Theory.

If you’re a guy, a safe role would be “ugly naked guy” in Friends.

But then you’re removing yourself from everything that caused you to choose that particular comedy to vacation in. Choosing Friends’ “ugly naked guy” would simply be choosing to spend a week in New York as an ugly guy. Choosing Cheers’ Vera would at least get you some interaction with one of the characters, but not the kind of interaction I’d be interested in. Same for Maris in Frasier.

Mother Wolowitz? What’s the point? Making Howard’s bed and dinner? Ooh, fun.

Big Bang Theory for me, I like the area, I’d enjoy the conversations and the game playing, and if Penny or Bernadette fell out with their partners I’d be there to …console them .

In my rea,l life if you even made a science/science fiction reference all you’ll get is a blank look .

I’d fly in to Bora Gora with Jake and Jack on the Cutter’s Goose. I’d have a drink with Louie at the Monkey Bar. After attempting to relax on the beautiful South Pacific beach for a few weeks of bliss, inevitably, I’d be pulled into an adventure involving a mysterious idol from a forgotten civilization and Nazis. After it was all over, is buy Corky a whiskey and swap stories until the Goose had to fly me home.

As much as I’d love to meet the Big Bang Theory gang, or Ron Swanson and Andy from Park and Rec.

I’m currently holding Eureka in one hand and** It’s Always Sunny in Phillidelphea** in the other.

Apparently I’d like to hang out in a horrific nightmare of the best kind. Decisions, decisions…

Can I split my time into a week each?

I think I’d spend my time in Eureka as well, hanging out at the Cafe Diem. I’d even work some, just to get a chance to look inside the walk-in cooler/storage area. Can’t beat having a vest-pocket space warp, to have all the storage you’d ever need!

I figure I’d meet all the characters eventually, because they all show up sooner or later in what seems to be the only commercial eating establishment in town.
