Pick an aquamarine tiara

Here’s a sapphire tiara

Amongst all the other pictures of QEII wearing jewels there are some here with sapphire tiaras, and if you scroll down some the magnificent sapphire necklace and earrings she got from her father as a wedding present.

I’m changing my vote because for some reason I didn’t look past the first 5. Now I want the last one: Art Deco tiara made by Cartier in 1937 in the run up to the coronation of George VI

I’ll take the Luxemburg art deco one.

I want 'em all! I love aquamarines.

I wanted to tip my hat to my husband, who on walking though as ‘Miss Congeniality’ was finishing up last night, asked if the tiara was what it exploded. Even though they call it a crown in the movie, he correctly id’d it as a tiara. Well done, handsome young man!

The Lady Heskith wins for me but I also really like the Hesse tiara, it looks so delicate and I love how gold makes aquamarine look so different from silver settings.

I went looking and discovered that you can get a pretty darn serviceable tiara for around $50-$100k at auction. These things are not out of reach, ladies. However, I wonder where I could get away wearing it. Bathtub, certainly. Starbucks…I’m not sure if Starbucks is a tiara occasion.

Princess Margaret wearing hers in the bathtub.

If I had the Politmore tiara I would wear that sucker every chance I got.

Don’t you think that’s a little excessive for everyday wear?

I suspect that one is worth a little more than $100k at auction.

That blog could be a serious time sink. Thanks for sharing it.

It is a serious time sink! I’ve spent way too much time there since discovering it this week. I love sparkly stuff.

The Kent Amethysts are gorgeous. I’m partial to purple anyways, I’d take any and all of those.

The Hesse tiara won. I can understand why. It’s so delicate and pretty yet regal and imposing. More background on the tiaras in question on the website.

Anybody else consider it scummy that QE2 seems to own most of the sparklies in the world?

I dislike diamonds, I prefer opals. I like these :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, she did gain the throne of what was the worlds largest empire. It makes sense that she would get the baubles left behind.

You’ll have to blame QEII’s tiara collection mostly on her grandmother, Queen Mary of Teck. Nobody could rock the bling like her, IMO! She liked to collect and show off some of the most impressive jewelry.

I’d like several tiaras, with wanting sapphire, aquamarine, opal, amethyst, emerald, and ruby, then I d have some nice heirlooms.

My favorite is the Art Deco tiara made by Cartier in 1937 and I would gladly accept Queen Victoria Eugenia’s Aquamarine Tiara or The Aquamarine Pineflower Tiara.
Unfortunately I can not wear a tiara; wearing a head band gives me a headache.:smack:

I wondered how many were old enough to remember the slogan.

I love shiny things, and found this, for sapphires, with Google Images.
