Pick Your List Favourite Congress(wo)men and Explain Why

Same idea as the governors’ thread but for current Senators and House members.

I’d personally have to go with Peter King (R-NY), he’s extreme “anti-terrorism”/Islamophobic rhetoric is incredibly hypocritical considering his past support for the Irish Republican Army.

Maxine Waters and Michele Bachmann aren’t far behind for obvious reasons.

Um, he’s your favorite?! Who’s your least favorite?

I’m assuming the title should read “LEAST favorite” rather than “List Favorite”.

Michelle Bachman for obvious reasons and because she’s from my state (hides face in shame).

On the Senate side, of all the derpers aside, I’m still going to go with Chuck Schumer. Mr. “Ban Guns For Everyone (except don’t prosecute me for the illegal machineguns my bodyguards carried)”.

Scott Desjarlais - Tennessee (R)

Anti-abortion advocate pressured his mistress to get an abortion. Whats worst, Desjarlais is a doctor and met her while treating her as a patient. He subsequently showed no remorse calling the accusation a “character assasination.”

Honorable mention: Mike Turzai - Pennsylvania (R)

Advocated for voter suppression laws. Clearly admitted this was done to give Governor Romney the state of PA. It’s hard to tell if he was being honest or just plain stupid.

Lamar Smith (R-TX) ranks way down there. The Teahadists surge past him every time I hear about them doing something particularly stupid, but Smith holds a steady pace in the race to the bottom.

He has the usual array of neocon crap going for him, but he goes beyond that. Not only is he for sale, he’s cheap. You may know him as the author of SOPA–that only cost Hollywood about $300k in “donations”. What is free speech in America worth to Lamar Smith? Apparently about a tenth of a cent per person.
