Pickles on a burger - a poll.

All, probably not. Food choices aren’t always rational.

But for me. Yes. No pickles, no relish.
[sub]Actually, I don’t understand relish - not only does it taste bad, but it looks bad, it smells bad, and the entire putting relish on your food process seems incredibly unsanitary.[/sub]

Of course not. I like relish and pickles in tuna salad. But I don’t care for them on anything else, though. Just…eh. The flavor doesn’t work for me when pickles are stuck all over my burgers. And then Chik-fil-A’s sandwiches…I swear they soak the chicken in pickle juice first. Not good.

It’s a mood thing with me: sometimes I want 'em, sometimes I don’t. But God help you if you hand me a burger with pickles on when I asked for NO pickles! As for the raw onion issue? Eurgh!

Yes to pickles, no to relish.

My Fatburger order: Fatburger with cheese, bacon, mustard, lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes.

Mmmmm… pickles. On everything! Let’s make pickle smoothies!

Actually, despite my above-mentioned hatred of the pickle, I don’t mind relish on my dogs. I don’t normally use it, but every once in a while I like it.

No freakin’ pickles.

I ordered a burger. If I wanted a salad I would have ordered a salad.

No pickles. A good hamburger MUST have beetroot (or “beets” to you 'merkins).

Pickles are cool, although optional.

Krautburger, hmmmm…interesting…I have kraut…<brb>

No Pickles!

Relish, okay, if it’s sweet relish. Love the Big Boy hamburger from Bob’s, uses just the right amount of sweet relish.

[slight hijack]

The cafeteria at college used to put pickles on grilled cheese sandwiches!!! Screaming Lord Sutch, where do people get these insane notions???

I love pickles.

But I hate them on my burger…

Same goes for cheese.

No pickles. None. Nada. Keep those icky things away from my food. Pickles are Nasty. Pickles are on The List.

Of course, certain people enjoy going out to eat with me, because they want my pickles. They can have them.

Hamburger pickles with my hamburger or grilled onions on the burger, but never both. Kosher dills on the side of all other sandwiches. Chunk pickles, watermellon pickles, or sweet pickles if eating something heavy like grandma’s roast beef dinner.

Pickles are not allowed near my burger. Nowhere. I always make sure to ask for them to be taken off when I get a Big Mac from McDonald’s.

Though once they tried to give me one with just pickles.

MMMMMmmmmmmMMMMmmMmMmmmm

Salty, briney goodness. Bring it on!

Max

I’ve never even considered NOT getting pickles on my hamburger! Yummy, salty, sour, crunchy goodness. But please, no tomato or onion. If I find a slimy tomato or smelly onion has been placed upon my burger, the whole thing is a do-over.

I’m pro pickle

I’ll be damned! You’re my kinda gal techchick68.

Wow. I never knew there were so many pickle-hating Philistines on the SDMB, and that’s a fact.

Fella bilong missus flodnak doesn’t like pickles either, but he can’t help it, he’s Norwegian. There’s something in the Norwegian psyche that is non-pickle-compatible. I have to go to Sweden to get my fix. Unfortunately this has rubbed off on flodjunior, who used to love pickles and now claims to hate them. So that leaves me and totnak to load up our burgers with the condiment of the gods. Mmmmm, pickles…

Pro-pickle agenda here. Onions too, but preferably raw rather than fried (although I’ll happily eat fried, but not with pickles). No cheese, I can’t stand melted cheese.
