Pickles

I had the same question about a year ago. I hate pickles, so I took a quick poll to see if people like them on their burgers. Here are the results. Pickle Poll

Once I went through the drive-thru at Rally’s and asked for no pickle. So they had me pull over. I waited about five minutes for them to bring me the food. So I didn’t check it, I just bit right in. You guessed it, I had a bite of pickle. I’ll never figure that one out.

And no, this had nothing to do with pickle on the side. They never put the pickle on the tuna grill, they put it on the side where it will soak into the bread. They just don’t pay attention. Also on that order there was one soup and she had prepared three soups because there were three sandwiches. They are just dumb, I guess.

I always ask for my burger with extra pickles. A burger just ain’t a burger without pickles.

Vlassic zesty dills are the king of pickles.

It’s funny though. My ex wife and I both love pickles, however our son doesn’t.

My current wife doesn’t either so my soon assumes that somehow he genetically got that trate from his step-mother.

I hate pickles. Hate them. This is no surprise, as I am what is sometimes called a “very selective eater.” In other words- picky.

At fast-food joints, it has always been easy enough to order my food sans pickle. Never had a problem. I always order my burgers plain. Since this translates to just meat and a bun, there are no pickles to deal with.

Sit-down places are more challenging. If I’ve been there before and I know there will be picklage, I just tell the waitress to “Keep the pickle in the kitchen.” Sometimes they find this funny. Sometimes they don’t care. Either way, no confusion and no pickle.

New places are tricky. Sandwiches that include pickle on the menu just get a request to leave it off. Should it arrive all pickly, woebetide. It’s going back to the kitchen. I want a new one. Yes, I could just take it off, but the juice would still make my food taste of pickle. This is not acceptable. If the “new” sandwich still tastes like pickle, sometimes it goes back again. Sometimes I just give up and stay hungry. It depends.

Unexpected pickles on the side are shunned in horror until someone removes them. Fortunately, d_redguy likes pickles.

I won’t eat anything the pickle has touched, though

Aargh, I told myself I would stay out of fast-food related posts, but I can’t live with crap going around like this. From my experiences, at least with McDonald’s and Burger King, there is a screen in the kitchen. On this screen are the orders that have been taken. Everything that is made in this kitchen comes up on this screen. Thus, when you order it, it is made. Whether or not it’s special ordered.
