Picture of Pepper Mill in the Boston Phoenix

Here she is, helping run Fast Track (Children’s Programming) at Boston’s Arisia science fiction convention:

Pepper is the one not making the Peace Sign.

What does her shirt say? Something about Pluto’s demotion?

**Pluto – RIP

Revolve in Peace

1930-2006**

(The date it was found and the date it was demoted from planet status.)
She got it at the Boston Museum of Science.

I can’t find an exact match on-line, although there are plenty of shirts with the same saying on them.

I give up: who the hell is Pepper Mill?

My wife, and onetime SDMB member. I refer to her frequently, and those who have encountered my posts before are familiar with this – i prefer using her own username to calling her “Mrs. Meacham” or something like that.
The name comes from one of those “What’s your Porn Name”-type games, using the street she lived on and her dog’s name. “Pepper Mill” worked out better than you’d expect.
Our daughter is MilliCal, from the combination of our names.

Since it was the science fiction convention, I was waiting for the web page to load, wondering what a character named Pepper Mill would look like. Before it loaded, I made the connection to the SDMB member name.

Oops, sorry. I was thinking it was yet another celebrity that I’ve never heard of. That would explain why my Google search came up with approximately $3M hits for tools that grind pepper. I do have a vague recollection of that name on the boards, now that you mention it.

I’ll add it to my file of information on Cal. I hope to one day track him down, eat his eyes and brain and thus gain his knowledge of optics and mythology.
