A friend of mine posted a picture of one of her friends stealing a chair from a bar. My friend seemed to think it was funny (I suppose this was the reason for posting the picture on Facebook.)
What would you do if your friend posted a picture like that?
I’d think alcohol must be a helluva drug. I’d also feel relieved I wasn’t hanging out with them at the time. Not because they were stealing. Petty crimes can be kind of funny. But I can imagine it won’t be too long before they get caught. Wouldn’t want to see myself in that photo with them.
I think I’d post something like, “Dude, that’s probably like a $200 [or whatever] chair you’re stealing. This is why we can’t have nice things. Take it back, ferchrissakes!”
Unless I was there, I wouldn’t know if the photo was staged as a joke, or if it was an actually robbery. I mean, how do you steal a chair?! Pop it under your jumper and hope no one notices?
I would ignore it and think my friends were idiots.
As described in the OP, this is a friend’s friend who’s doing the stealing, and I’d probably care even less in that case. Just roll my eyes at the immaturity and move on.
I vote for do nothing, but agree they’re idiots. My problem would be that I tend to be friends with the bar owners around here, so in that case I might take it a step further.
Although you could post something like “I’ll remember this the next time they raise prices or lay someone off.”
