Picture of someone stealing a chair on Facebook

A friend of mine posted a picture of one of her friends stealing a chair from a bar. My friend seemed to think it was funny (I suppose this was the reason for posting the picture on Facebook.)

What would you do if your friend posted a picture like that?

I’d think alcohol must be a helluva drug. I’d also feel relieved I wasn’t hanging out with them at the time. Not because they were stealing. Petty crimes can be kind of funny. But I can imagine it won’t be too long before they get caught. Wouldn’t want to see myself in that photo with them.

I think I’d post something like, “Dude, that’s probably like a $200 [or whatever] chair you’re stealing. This is why we can’t have nice things. Take it back, ferchrissakes!”

I don’t know that I’d do it, but I’d be tempted to send the picture to the bar in question.

I don’t actually know what bar it was.

I’m not a fan of people stealing stuff, although I don’t think I will actually do anything about this picture.

Honestly? I wouldn’t do anything.

Unless I was there, I wouldn’t know if the photo was staged as a joke, or if it was an actually robbery. I mean, how do you steal a chair?! Pop it under your jumper and hope no one notices?

I would ignore it and think my friends were idiots.

As described in the OP, this is a friend’s friend who’s doing the stealing, and I’d probably care even less in that case. Just roll my eyes at the immaturity and move on.

Stool pigeon comes to mind.

It was from a bar’s outdoor patio area (called a “terrasse” here in Montreal.)

I vote for do nothing, but agree they’re idiots. My problem would be that I tend to be friends with the bar owners around here, so in that case I might take it a step further.

Although you could post something like “I’ll remember this the next time they raise prices or lay someone off.”
