See, that’s what else I was going to put in my initial post, but I got distracted with the AARGHING. I didn’t have as good a dream as Rue, but it was trippy. See, I watched Iron Chef America last night before I went to bed, and then as I was laying in bed, I was thinking about my taxes (which I still need to do). So what did I dream about? Iron Chefs - doing their taxes.
Told you it wasn’t as good as Rue’s.
What would have been really cool, though, is if the Iron Chefs were doing my taxes. I’d want the real Iron Chefs, though - none of this Bobby Flay nonsense.
Glad you’re feeling better, FCM.
I was a very cute kid. We have many adorable pictures of me being cute. My favourite one was taken when I was 8 or 9 months old, on a camping trip. I’m in a yellow plastic basin, presumably being given a bath, on top of a picnic table. There’s sunlight slanting through the trees, and I’m beaming.
Aaaawww. I was so cute.
I made curried potato and cheese sammiches last night. Actually, I made lots of the potato stuff, so that’s what I’m having for breakfast/lunch, in a few minutes. I also have Greek yogurt with 10% m.f. so I might have some of that with honey, too. Yum.
Great, Rue. One kid is tidy and sharing, the other a maniac, according to photographic history. The tidy and sharing one will hate you.
I have assorted photos of nieces and nephews on my fridge, to include my favorite one of my neice, which is actually of my pregnant sister feeding the canada geese behind our house. Since that was over seven years ago, we aren’t at FCM’s record, but it is a long time to have a photo on a fridge.
When I dream about my sister, who is 12 years younger than me, she shows up as a small child. Some pictures never fade.
Swampy, your bathroom is clean, but does it have enough toilet paper?
FCM, don’t forget that the best thing for an upset stomach is chocolate. I mean, why should an upset stomach be different from anything else?
Can I cuddle Soupo and Katcha? Please? Please please please? They sound so adorable!
We have baby pictures of me and my brother up in our second-floor hallway–nekkid pictures of us two sharing a bath, when we were chubby little tots, much to my brother’s and my eternal disgrace and shame. It was so embarrassing when friends came over :o Thankfully, Mum took them down after a while.
snuggles FCM How about some tea? I make a mean cup of tea.
s_f wouldn’t it be just really jake if Iron Chefs did your taxes and made you this really yummy dinner while they were doing em? Gettin’ your taxes done and a free yummy dinner. Also, great about TG. Hope that works out for ya.
I’m gonna go pay tax guy when I go to lunch today. He’s through with my taxes. I’m gettin’ back almost 3k this year! YAY Tax Man!
Rue what a cool dream! The bath tub was probably full because ACBG ran a bath then wandered off to do something else. He’s been known to do that. Course the fact that he left me asleep on the couch while spies were after me does not please me, so he must be punished. Don’t y’all think he deserves it for abandoning me like that? I’m just glad that Rue, Velma and the Professor were lookin’ out for me. I’m also glad they woke me up before I burned the roast. I don’t usually have a roast in the oven. Usually a roast is in the crock pot. What was I thinking, falling asleep with a roast in the oven? Hmmm… ACBG left me alone in the house with spies after me and with the oven on while I was asleep on the couch. OOOOOOH! Is he ever gonna get it now! Was Swampy Street a nice neighborhood? If it wasn’t, maybe I can move to a better neighborhood before your next dream. Unless I live on Swampy Street in that other dream too and you like that. Then I’ll stay.
FCM glad you’re feeling better. I agree you need some chocolate. And a nap on the couch. Also, since you’re sick you get to be taken out to dinner. It’s part of the healing process.
I changed the batteries in all three of my smoke detectors Saturday night. While we were at ACBG’s place doin’ yard work Saturday afternoon, we set his clocks and changed batteries in his smoke detectors too. My CO[sub]2[/sub] detector is hardwired and don’t need no battery changing.
merrily there is always, always, always plenty of tp in my house. Matter of fact each bathroom is stocked with 2 brand new unopened 4 packs of tp. And I have a whole rack full of 4packs of tp in the storage closet in my garage. I could have major runs for a solid month and not give out of tp. I’m prepared.
I have lots and lots of pictures of the kids, and have some displayed, but since moving to this house, I haven’t found the right spot.
In last week’s MMP Swampy wanted to know what color Estate Vineyard is. It’s a burgundy (like burgundy wine) color. Not really purply, but most definitely a very deep burgundy. We painted the great room yesterday, but need to do touch ups on the stone brown color and put a second coat on the Estate vineyard color. It looks…AWESOME! I can’t wait until it’s all done.
I will post pictures if I can find a site that hosts for free. I’ll post when I’m done. Mr. Taters wants to do some special effects type painting in the den and the powder room. We have both decided that we want to do a suede effect in the bedroom. We have many, many, many long hours of painting ahead of us though. At any rate, when the kitchen and great room are done I’ll post pics.
Potato and cheese sammich? I’m intrigued by that. How does one make a sandwich like that?
I don’t have pictures of cute kids, because I’m one of those prematurely grumpy old ladies that doesn’t like kids. I know, you all thought I was cool before, but now that you know that…sigh.
My throat is sore. I really can’t be getting sick, because I fly out Friday to celebrate grandpa’s 80th in Oregon. NO SICK!
It’s not just the photographic history that tells that tale. Regular old history history backs up the pictures. But the sharing one can be a maniac at times and the maniac can share on occasion. It’s just the way things are.
merrily tp or the lack thereof is no laughing or <snerking> matter young lady! Well, except that I have friends who say if their lawn ever gets tped <snerk> I’d be their prime suspect cause of all the tp in my house. Oh, and the Pink Panther would like a pink living room too.
Taters that sounds nice! I can’t wait to see the pics. I may want to paint my living room Estate Vineyard if it’s a really rich burgundy color. I think that’d look good.
Sick, stay away from scout! I mean it! Go away now! There, you’re safe now.
My mom has tons of photos displayed in her basement, covering whole sections of wall. She’s got some old sepias of relatives in Poland who no one can identify, photos of my grandparents and parents from the 30s and 40s, aunts, uncles, cousins, sibs, grandkids - quite a gallery. I used to have lots of family pictures in the entry hall of our last house - it was about 20’ long, so we put a lot of photos up there. But there’s no such gallery here. I may do something in one of the spare bedrooms after I get done painting and stuff.
I think I’m pretty much back to my normal adorable self, except for being exhausted. I’m afraid to take a nap for fear I won’t be able to sleep tonight. So I’m watching stupid TV and doing a few chores and surfing and talking on the phone… Not a very exciting day, I fear. But I appreciate all the good wishes, and the suggestions about chocolate. I wonder, am I well enough to run down to the Wawa (it’s a convenience store, for those who don’t know) and get some medicinal chocolate??
Hey, maybe we should for a prematurely-grumpy-old-ladies’ club for those of us who don’t like kids.
I find though, that not liking kids does affect others’ views of my personality. That’s why I have pix of kids on my fridge so people think I’m normal and not some anti-kid nut. Besides, there’s really nothing wrong with *pictures *of kids. Pictures don’t drool or cry or expect you to play with them.
FCM going to the Wawa (<snek> a convenience store owned by Helen Keller <snerk>) for medicinal chocolate is like when you have to go to the drugstore to get a prescription filled when you’re sick. You have to do it so you can get your medicine. Chocolate is medicinal, hence, you have to drive to the Wawa <snerk> to get it.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Well, I’ll be darned, merry, I didn’t even think of that. My apologies to Ms. Kay, and Mssrs. Floyd, Pinking, and Panther. OTOH, PINK in my living room will never do. Uh, uh! Nope!
fcm, by all means take a nap. It’s early enough so you shouldn’t have to worry about tonite and it’s good for your darling little self what needs healing. So there!
Yay! Glad you feel better! If I was there, I’d run down to Wawa and get you some chocolate, but I’m here, so I won’t. So what’s up with the Wawa–don’t you have Starvin’ Marvin stores around there? I thought you were in Starvin’ Marvin territory. I’d rather go to Starvin’ Marvin than Wawa anyday!
Is Mary Kay’s whole house pink? It would be really funny if it turned out that she lived in a goth-y house that’s all painted black with Estate Vineyard trim. Estate Vineyard sounds very goth-y, if you put it with black. Maybe with a bunch of black lights and vampire sculptures. And a cuddly plush Cthulu. A pink plush Cthulu.
Would a pink cuddly plush Cthulu be marketed as “My Little Please Let Me Be The First To Be Eaten Cthulu?” Cause that’d be funny. Also, I’d go stand in line at Toys R’Us to get one.
We got a Starvin’ Marvin here. No Wawa <snerk> though. My favorite is the ones they have all over parts of the midwest, Kum 'n Go. <snerk>
We’ve got Wawa and Sheetz, along with the usual 7-11. Farther north in MD, you find the High’s stores (gooooood ice cream) and Royal Farm Stores. But no Starvin’ Marvin.
In FL, we had Lil Champ, which replaced Jiffy, which is our generic term for convenience stores - “goin’ to the Jiffy.”
Talked to my kid a bit earlier - turns out she didn’t schedule her surgery yet - she assumed the Dr would, then call her. So I told her to make the call and get it all set up. She’s 19 - quite old enough to tend to such details, ya think? Anyway, once she sets it up, I’ll know when I’m going to Orlando. Some time next month is all I know for sure.
Still thinkin’ I should put on some socks and shoes and head to Wawa. The fresh air will do me good, right? Right??
My Mother gave me a photo album for Christmas last year that’s full of pictures of me and the family while I was growing up. She copied a bunch of stuff, and she used a lot of extras and doubles that she had lying around. Really nice gift.
I managed to set all my clocks ahead correctly, but then I forgot to set me alarm clock for this morning. I guess I’m only allowed to do one thing with my clock per day.
I stop at the Wawa nearly everyday on the way to work. I get a 16 oz cup of that fake cappichino (it’s not real, so it doesn’t get the real spelling.) I know it’s just powder mixed with hot water, but I lurves it. It’s really chocolatey, too, so you might like it **FCM[/b}.
By the way, does anyone have any ideas about what to do with a watermelon and about 2 dozen herrings?
