Pineapple upside-down cake

I’ve posted a couple of ‘first attempt’ threads recently (grilled lobster tails, and grilled swordfish). Pineapple upside-down cake is actually my second attempt.

Mrs. L.A.'s employer is having a staff picnic today. It’s ‘Hawaiian-themed’, so she volunteered me to make the cake. I’m a cook, not a baker, so a couple of weeks ago I found an easy recipe online (it uses Bisquick) and made one. It was tasty. This morning I made another one, for the picnic. It’s cooling right now. This time I added the maraschino cherries, which I didn’t have last time, used crushed pineapple under the slices instead of chunks (the recipe calls for neither), and replaced half of the milk with pineapple juice. I mixed up a tablespoon of pineapple juice with a tablespoon of milk before I did this, just to make sure the milk wouldn’t curdle.

In the middle of typing this, the timer went off to tell me it’s time to take the cake pan off of the cake. Mrs. L.A. just came home from a patient visit. She says, ‘Ooh! Pretty cake!’

Every time I try to eat one of those, it falls on my face. What am I doing wrong?

You’re making it right-side up.
